[edit] Hip hop career
[edit] Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Bizzy Bone started in hip-hop as a founding member of the group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Formed in 1993, the Cleveland-based crew first caught the ear of N.W.A. member Eazy-E and lesser known gangster rappers Tim Cavity aka the root canal and Puff D aka the tony pasta.
Their trademark double and triple-time sung/rapped harmonies brought something new to the table at a time when most acts were busy trying to imitate what was featured on Dr. Dre's The Chronic. The unique sound prompted multi-platinum record sales, won them a Grammy, and brought the spotlight to the long-neglected Midwestern hip-hop community. With Bizzy as a member Bone Thugs have sold over 30 Million Records Worldwide.
[edit] Awards
Bizzy's work has been awarded by numerous respected groups, including a GRAMMY,ASCAP Award, the Michael Jackson Soul Train Award, a Blockbuster Award, an American Music Award, and the NAACP - Back To School/Stay in School Youth Rally Award.
[edit] Personal life
In 2002, he appeared on .the FOX series America's Most Wanted, revealing that as a child he had been kidnapped and molested, but thanks to his abductor's neighbor seeing his picture flashing at the end of the made-for-TV movie, Adam, in 1983 and calling the police, he was returned to his family.
In late 2005, during an interview with MTV.com, Bizzy admitted that he was a recovering alcoholic and substance abuse addict, and that his family had attempted to have him committed to an asylum.
He has ten children as he stated during an interview on the Wendy Williams show in September, 2005. He had his first child at age 14, which was stated in Vibe magazine, November 1998. She can be seen in his video "I Understand" and "Hip Hop Baby".
