Talk:Blue Mage

Doesn't Gau (Final Fantasy VI) fit this description? Should he be mentioned in this article? --AlexChurchill 11:48, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- No, Gau is not a blue mage. Blue mages learn specific enemy attacks, which can be used as if they were normal magic spells. Strago is the blue mage in Final Fantasy VI. Gau's "Feral Child" class is pretty much unique, though it incorporates more of Final Fantasy V's "Trainer" class than it does "Blue Mage." – Seancdaug 17:30, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
You're almost close, Seancdaug. Gau is more like a Morpher, like in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. He gains the same abilities and weaknesses as the monster he's morphed as, but he doesn't retain their looks. --LuvLuv_G2000 4:58pm, December 21st, 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mega Man and Kirby
Okay, so how about Mega Man? Might he have been the original Blue Mage?
- How?
- It's a joke... but Mega Man did gain powers by defeating his enemies and absorbing them... it just has zilch to do with Final Fantasy. Same with Kirby.
[edit] Blue Magic
What's the deal with the Blue Magic section? It seems very useless if it's going to list every spell ever. And if it is going to list every blue magic spell, then FFXI spells would need to be there, and BLUs have TONS of spells in that game, plus it's ever-expandable. PLUS, this section seems very un-Wikipedian. A few significant spells I could understand, like 1,000 Needles/Goblin Punch/Bad Breath/Aqua Breath (Lung)/Mind Blast/Magic Hammer/etc. --Jopasopa 22:39, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
