If you're here about an image or other media item with no source: all images I made are in the public domain (unless there's some legal reason you know of why they cannot be); all clips from CDs or LPs were uploaded under fair use ages ago when there was no clear policy on such things--if you think they should be deleted now, then by all means delete them. It's nice that the horrible big red boxes for this sort of thing seem to have fallen into disuse; I'm really happy about that.
If you're here for anything else and you want to make sure I receive it, it's probably best to use the email link on my user page. I don't regularly check this page.
[edit] wikimusic
Hi, Camembert, I saw you're interested in (classical) music. Maybe you would like to talk about the possible creating of a Wikimusic? There are no real plans right now, but we would like your imput! Please add you comment at this page, and put your name on the list if you want to stay informed. If you would want to, you can add your email as well. In front of you reaction I thank you for your enthousiasm. If you know someone who might be interested, don't hesitate, and give him/her the link! (http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/gebruiker:Effeietsanders/project:Wikimusic), even if they are not active on wikipedia. Spread the word!!! effeietsanders 13:53, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
- Good luck with it; I'm afraid it's not for me right now, however. --Camembert
[edit] Thanks
Cam, thanks for your support on my RFA. I very much appreciate it. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask. See you around! —thames 18:29, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think that was me (not that it matters, I suppose). --Camembert
[edit] Classical music of the United Kingdom
Hello, I noticed your work on masque and wondered if you might be any good on the article above which is a UK Collaboration of the week. We're not currently doing fantastically well, I would venture to suggest. --bodnotbod 21:18, 7 November 2005 (UTC)
- What I wrote at masque was basically rubbish. It's a good job somebody completely redid it. Anyway, I'm three months late on this one, as usual.... --Camembert
[edit] WikiProject Tunings, Temperaments, and Scales
Would you be interested in joining my proposed WikiProject, WikiProject Tunings, Temperaments, and Scales? —Keenan Pepper 20:23, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
- If I were still here, I daresay I would be--good luck with it. --Camembert
[edit] Improving Instrument Articles?
In the hope that you might return, I leave you a message! Maybe I'll still be interested if/when you reply! In any case, I noted that you've written many, if not most, of the articles on musical instruments, and was curious if maybe you would like to hash out and start a WikiProject with the intent of making said pages more quickly readable and standardized (say, by making a template that would include Hornbostel-Sachs classification, "common" classification (e.g. woodwind, brass, percussion, etc.), famous works including it, and so forth.) If you're interested, just drop me a line on my talk page, and we can start discussing such a project.

- Sounds intriguing--another one where I have to say I'd be interested if I were still here, but... Good luck with it :) --Camembert
[edit] Johann Caspar Fischer
There are no sources or references for this article. Please provide them. TheRingess 08:04, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
- My primary reference for the article was most likely the sixth edition of the Grove dictionary. I didn't generally provide references for articles where the information could be checked in any one of a dozen standard reference works--shoddy of me, I know. Anyway, I see somebody else has stuck some references in now, so all is well, I hope. --Camembert
[edit] Staccato
Hello Lee. Image:With staccato.ogg was unfortunately deleted, despite the note on your user page that your contributions are PD. Are you able to reupload it please? Image:Without staccato.ogg was also deleted and has been apparently re-uploaded by someone, but doesn't seem to work. See this version of Staccato for the old links to it. Also, you need to go to Special:Preferences and confirm your email if you want people to contact you that way (as per wikitech-l). Angela. 04:18, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- I have restored these files. --Gmaxwell 05:05, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, both. I've confirmed my email address now, too. --Camembert 18:18, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Charles Ives FARC
The article Charles Ives has been listed on Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates (Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates/Charles Ives), by me, as it has no inline citations and thus does not meet the featured article criteria at Wikipedia:What is a featured article?: "A featured article has the following attributes" 2.b. "'factually accurate' includes the supporting of facts with specific evidence and external citations...these include a "References" section where the references are set out, complemented where appropriate by inline citations."
I'm writing you because you contributed to the article. If you did the latter you may be able to add inline citations where appropriate much easier than someone unaquainted with the sources used. I thought you might be interested in the FARC or in saving the article from FAR by adding citations. Thanks. Hyacinth 11:47, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- I expect this has been dealt with now, but just in case: most of the stuff I wrote in these types of articles could, I believe, be confirmed in any one of a dozen references (Grove should cover most of it; if not, anything I put in the "Further reading" or "External links" sections probably would). I did usually cite quotes and more obscure info exactly (if I didn't, it was an oversight), but giving inline references for info that can be checked in a lot of places can, it seems to me, lead to problems in a project like Wikipedia ("Ludwig van Beethoven was a German (Tovey, 1923) composer (Grove, 1878) of classical music (Rolland, 1903)" etc; I exaggerate, but you get the idea). --Camembert 18:31, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image with link
Hello! See please this Image_talk.--Mmsoft 20:56, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Have done--it's perfectly OK to delete it, as far as I'm concerned, since it's been replaced with the chess template now. --Camembert 18:40, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

- Ah, this soothing green box is much nicer than the old red one :) Anyway, looks like it's been deleted now, which is fine by me. --Camembert 18:37, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Redirect vote
Hi, I see you had interest in the Britain/Great Britain article. There is now a Redirect Britain to Great Britain vote on the page. El Gringo 19:19, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] need contributions to culture article
Hello Camembert - I saw your contributions to the page on abstract art. Some of its content overlaps with the nascent Culture of New York City article. It needs lots of revising and fleshing out. If you get a chance, check it out. Your contributions would be welcome. Wv235 22:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't really have time to get involved right now, but good luck with it! --Camembert 18:39, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

- The images are all in the public domain, so I would think you could do it yourself. --Camembert 15:08, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chess images
Hi, since all the chess-related articles are using Template:Chess diagram now, many of the images you uploaded are orphaned now. You don't mind if I put them up for deletion, do you? --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 11:06, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Don't mind at all--feel free. --Camembert 15:08, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Lee in the pub.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lee in the pub.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 04:07, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- Duly tagged. --Camembert 23:51, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] FYI
Don't want to fight about this, it is water under the bridge. But, this points in a different policy direction. As I say, no harm done now. --Doc 09:09, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
