Those of us working on the dog breeds project aren't sure we like the changes you made to the breed pictures and were wondering why it was done. Lachatdelarue (talk) 20:43, 7 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Before I came here, I reverted most of the changes. I appreciate how much work you put into it because it took me quite a while to put them back again. :-) The dog breeds project explicitly calls out a table template with a thumbnail. I left alone those that you changed that didn't previously have captions or had captions that were redundant with the breed name, but I reverted those where the caption had useful info beyond the breed name. This means that the images among the dog breed pages are now inconsistent, some thumbs and some not. The template also explicitly calls for comments at the beginning and end of the breed table to make it easier for newbies viewing Edit This Page for the first time where things start & end; I replaced all of those. (I've put effort earlier into being sure they all had those comments, although clearly I missed a few here & there.) I just wanted to let you know why I changed so much back. [edit] Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. – Ram-Man (comment) (talk)[[]] 13:43, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] lots of edits, not an admin
Hi - I made a list of users who've been around long enough to have made lots of edits but aren't admins. It looks like you've left, but if you come back and are at all interested in becoming an admin, can you please add an '*' immediately before your name in this list? I've suggested folks nominating someone might want to puruse this list, although there is certainly no guarantee anyone will ever look at it. I've marked you on this list as "inactve". Feel free to update this as well. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) July 3, 2005 17:21 (UTC)
