Claire Peacock (née Casey) is a character on ITV drama Coronation Street, played by actress Julia Haworth.
Claire is married to butcher Ashley Peacock, marrying on Christmas Day 2004. She met Ashley in 2003, taking up the position of children's nanny to Ashley's son Joshua, after his first wife Maxine Peacock was murdered by Richard Hillman. In 2005 Claire started work as a taxi driver for Streetcars, the local firm owned by Steve McDonald and Lloyd Mullaney.
She gave birth to a baby boy, Freddy, born on 17th July. However she suffered from severe post natal depression avoiding spending time with Freddy, lacking any interest in him and leaving him in places where he might "get lost" or hurt.
In September 2006 she was sectioned under the Mental Health Act. A month later she was assessed as over her problem and allowed back home.
[edit] Charlie's Murder
She was manipulated by Tracy Barlow to think that Tracy's boyfriend, Charlie, was harming her. She fell for Tracy's trick and when Tracy eventually murdered Charlie, Claire stuck up for her and told everyone about the horrible things she believed Charlie had done to Tracy.
Claire became a friend to Tracy Barlow, but Tracy was in fact leading her into believing Charlie Stubbs was abusing her. Claire showed the police a record she had kept of 'events' that Tracy had set up.
