[edit] Attias's Son
In February 2001, his son, David Attias, went on a vehicular rampage through the streets of Isla Vista, a college town near the campus of the University of California at Santa Barbara. After driving through the crowded streets, killing four people (Nicholas Bourdakis, Christopher Divas, Elie Israel, and Ruth Levy)and injuring one (Albert Levy), he got out of the car and proclaimed himself "the angel of death". Dan Attias' influence, along with a high priced legal team, was able to convince a jury that his son was legally insane at the time, even though his son had the capacity to be enrolled at the University.[1] The issue still angers many residents of the area.
