[edit] SGFSU article
I've proposed that your Student Government of Ferris State University article be merged with Ferris State University, which I've explained at Talk:Ferris State University. The main article is little more than a stub, and would be a more worthwhile project. Also, I'd like to encourage you to learn some more about how to format Wikipedia articles (i.e. don't use HTML tags) and avoid language like "arguably the most powerful" and "notorious"... Wikipedia is supposed to be limited to objectively factual information, not opinions. Tverbeek 12:51, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Todd McGee
A tag has been placed on your article Todd McGee, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Todd McGee is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Todd McGee. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. -- MisterHand 16:49, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Horner.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Horner.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. howcheng {chat} 16:22, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Case.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Case.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Textbookunion.com
Hi Delta. I'm sorry you were offended by people editing the article you wrote.
Wikipedia is a collaborative project. This means anyone, at any time, can edit what we put here. Sometimes this is a bad thing, mostly it is a good thing. When it first happens to each of us, however, boy does it hurt!
But everything is better for being edited (even the best authors and journalists owe much more than they let on to their editors) no matter how painful the process feels.
We do try to warn people on the edit screen that they will be edited mercilessly by others, but the reality is it still hurts.
Being edited, even with the heartless shorthand tags we use here, even by multiple editors, is not a personal insult. It's not even an attack on the article itself. It's just a quality thing that applies to everyone. In fact, I list my main contributions on my user page - please go and edit them, tag them for improvement, nominate them for deletion, it's what we do here.
Your article about a website read like an advertisement. I can't make that sound less harsh than it does. These things happen, that's why we have an automated tag to make it a quick process to have them cleaned up.
You, rather petulantly in my opinion, but I could be wrong, wanted the entire article deleted. I'm sorry, but I don't agree per se. You asserted notability for the subject of the article, so it probably does deserve an article based on what you said. I've started a debate here that you might like to contribute to about the article.
Don't let clean-up tags get you down. They're a positive process, not a negative one. They're an impersonal process too, not one that marks you as a problem. They're just a way of making Wikipedia better.
Thanks and happy editing. RΞDVΞRS ✖ ЯΞVΞЯSΞ 21:19, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
