East Asian Cup 2005

The East Asian Cup is a football competition between teams from East Asian countries and territories; see East Asian Cup. The second ever cup was held from 31 July 2005 to 7 August 2005 in South Korea, with qualifiers held in March 2005.
China PR, Korea Rep, Japan are direct finalists. The fourth place is competed among North Korea, Guam, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei and Mongolia. North Korea was the winner in the qualifiers. Macao had been temporarily barred by the FIFA to enter any international matches because of alleged undue influence of government in forming the committee of its football association. The suspension was subsequently lifted after rectification by Macao.

Qualifying Matches:
- Macao was suspended by FIFA from entering the competition during the match period.
Each countries plays against the other 4 countries on a round robin basis.
- 5 March 2005: Hong Kong 6 - 0 Mongolia
- 5 March 2005: Chinese Taipei 9 - 0 Guam
- 7 March 2005: Guam 0 - 15 Hong Kong
- 7 March 2005: Korea DPR 6 - 0 Mongolia
- 9 March 2005: Mongolia 4 - 1 Guam
- 9 March 2005: Chinese Taipei 0 - 2 Korea DPR
- 11 March 2005: Guam 0 - 21 Korea DPR
- 11 March 2005: Chinese Taipei 0 - 5 Hong Kong
- 13 March 2005: Hong Kong 0 - 2 Korea DPR
- 13 March 2005: Chinese Taipei 0 - 0 Mongolia
