[edit] Enclave
This map labels the former enclave of Mount Scopus as an Israeli settlement, a view which not even the organisation which produced it holds, and which must be an inadvertent factual error. Perhaps someone has an idea as to how we can go about remedying this? Cheers, TewfikTalk 04:37, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe we can add a disclaimer? By curiosity, where exactly is Mount Scopus on this map? Tazmaniacs 16:50, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

It is not true that one could draw a similar map. This map is about a sensitive political subject, and the Institute who produced it is a reliable source. It gives valuable insight on the geographical situation, and one can not understand the Middle East, in particular Israel-Palestine, without maps. Further on, one can not claim that drawing maps is a neutral activity devoid of any political value. It is clear that one can represent the world through different ways (only think about how you have a different view of the world with a map centered on Europe, or on China, or on Africa, or on the United States). Hence the necessity to have an Institute as author of the map, and not just any Wikipedian who carries out no scientific authority. Henceforth, I dispute this claim that any one has the ability and legitimity to draw such maps, which has a scientific value. Tazmaniacs 21:48, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- And no one else in the world is capable of producing a similar map that is also free? I'm not sure that I'm convinced on that point, besides which the map is full of errors and some POV as well, but that is for the discussion above. TewfikTalk 02:24, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think any map, whether by an 'institute' or not, which labels the most important Jewish cemetery as 'Palestinian built-up', should be taken seriously. It also claims that E1 is actually the Ma'ale Adummim forest, which is most likely incorrect. It also has an area called 'Greater Jerusalem', which is a completely fictitious entity (maybe it exists on all Palestinian maps?) If Wikipedia is to be taken seriously on this subject, we need an accurate map, something to the nature of this (although it doesn't display E1). -- Ynhockey (Talk) 07:40, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
