Welcome to my talk page. Here you can leave any messages you want for me. I don't reply on this page however, and will post a reply on your own talk page (unless you don't have one or I wish to leave a message for other readers as well). To make it easier for me, please have a talk link in your signature.
Also now I'm in regular service with the Israel Defense Forces, which means I may not be able to reply quickly.
Also, while I accept or even welcome criticism (as you can see, there's some on the page), I will delete any personal attacks. Please don't bother.

[edit] Insignia template
The template was used on approxiamtely 280 images. I removed the tag using WP:AWB, which leaves an automatic edit summary. In about 95% of cases, the image from which I moved the {{insignia}} template had two licensing templates, leaving one intact. In a few cases, the removal left no licensing template. It was simply not efficient for me to hunt down another appropriate template, especially because I choose not to involve myself with copyright and have little to do with it, and consequently I do not know what would make a suitable replacement template. All I knew was that the template that was currently being used, was not helpful and consensus on its TfD was to delete it. I am sorry if this reply is not as helpful as you would of hoped. PLease feel free to contact me again if you have any questions or concerns. Best regards, RyanGerbil10(Упражнение В!) 17:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging for Image:Soul_Candy.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Soul_Candy.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:46, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Orphanbot has gone crazy, eek. The image was tagged from the beginning. However, I have also added a separate sentence reiterating that the screenshot is from Bleach. I hope it will not be tagged again. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 11:59, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikifcation of Yekutiel Adam
Hi, I added the tag because it isn't written in an encyclopedic format. It contains just sentence after sentence, with no paragraphs or any common purpose. Wikipedia isn't a CV or resume and I think pages such as the one in question need to be change in style. On a completely different note, you may be interested in doing some stub sorting; I recently created, per WP:WSS, an Israeli military personnel template that will eventually become a separate category. Seeing as this is your primary interest, you be interesting in adding this template to any articles you see fit. That is how I came across Yekutiel Adam. Thanks and I hope cleared my reasoning up sufficiently.--Thomas.macmillan 14:04, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- If another template works better, by all means do it. As for the template, it should only be placed on short articles, and its for all military personnel of Israel, not just generals. anyway, it is {{Israel-mil-bio-stub}}. When adding it to an article replace all the other templates with the same categories (like Middle Eastern military personnel, Israeli people or Israeli military stubs. If you have any questions about stubsorting, let me know. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what branch of the IDF are you in? Many of my friends are in the IDF and I am curious on the slight chance you might know any of them.--Thomas.macmillan 14:27, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Please
Provide a single prove that I reverted something. I did genuine edit, and if you don't agree – It's your business. But you have no right to accuse me of reverting, when a simple diff shows that it wasn't. I don't have anything but good in mind when editing wiki and indeed find behaviour you demonstrate just shameful. --132.73.80.97 15:12, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bleach image issue
Another case of an individual trying to immediately insert the most current possible image of a character rather than a decent quality one... since Isshin Kurosaki's OMG SPOILER is now common knowledge to the anime-only series followers, we're having a low-scale edit war over what image to use. I like this version, which, while not showing his shinigami form, is a good likeness of his character in general. User:Mecha50 wants to use this image, which displays his shinigami outfit quite well but is much lower quality and, imo at least, makes him look like Kermit the frog. To top it all off, another user is complaining about spoilers. --tjstrf talk 15:59, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- The edit war is on the image page itself, actually. Image:Kurosaki Isshin.gif. --tjstrf talk 16:18, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gotei 13, Insignia section
cc: tjstrf
The LiveJournal community 'Soul Society' recently barnstormed the flower-identification puzzle again, and seem to've come up with a pretty solid list. I'd like to post this in the article, but feel uncertain about how to compose the paragraph most Wikifully. I'd like to have one or both of you (Ynhockey, tjstrf) beta the addition - I'll post it in my Talk for easy access.
Also, since you, Ynhockey, pointed out that the 'Ginyanote' reference was merely due to bad translation, how about putting exactly that as a point of trivia? It might enlighten a few more fen *grin*.

[edit] Expressways
Hi Ynhockey,
On List of highways in Israel, you've labelled all non freeways as expressways, but I don't think many of them meet the criteria (a divided highway for high-speed traffic with at least partial control of access). Let me know what you think, TewfikTalk 17:10, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- You're correct that there was discussion on the road topic, but I think it may have been on highway vs route vs road vs colour, or some such. In any event, my issue here is that many of the "red" highways are not divided at all, or only for very brief stretches, which does not really meet the expressway definition (90 I believe is only divided in Eilat, Beit She'an, Degania, and Hatzor, and is otherwise). I would say that they should still be designated as highways, but that their technical definition should match the realities on the ground. TewfikTalk 18:57, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
I wanted to ensure that you saw my clarification and had a chance to weigh in before I made any changes. TewfikTalk 01:27, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ashkenazi image
Thanks for removing the dead link to the Gabi Ashkenazi image (Image:Gabi Ashkenazi.jpg), but is there a way for me to know who deleted my image? We have precedent for using IDF images, and I had explained that in my rationale. Joshdboz 22:08, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Bleach
Konnichi-wa, Ynhockey-san! I recently proposed a Bleach WikiProject at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals and thought that you might be interested in voicing your opinions, seeing as how you edit Bleach-related article quite often. A couple of the project's goals are listed on the proposal page and if the project passes the proposal, I will get started on an official to-do list. I'm willing to hear any and all criticism, ideas to help improve the project, and any other comments or questions you may have. If you're not interested, I simply ask that you to let me know. I sent a message to about five or six other users; only two responded and gave me their support while the others didn't respond at all. Thank you for your time! // DecaimientoPoético 19:34, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kiryat
Yeah, I was just about to write to you about Kiryat Malakhi/Mal'akhi. Why the apostrophe? I'm a Be'er Shevan and drive past it quite regularly, but have never noticed an apostrophe (though of course the signs are rarely correct). I don't believe it has to be there - it is becoming less and less common to replace an alef or ein with one - but if you insist. I just think it makes titles look a bit untidy :)
I wasn't sure about it, but I think Kiryat Ata is better than Kiryat Atta, but I didn't want to change the spelling of both words at once. Let me know your opinion. Number 57 20:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
P.S. Why officially Qiryat Atta? The city's own website is http://www.kiryat-ata.org.il/ (though currently offline). Surely this is the best "official" name? Number 57 20:31, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, a good point about Be'er Sheva. I would suggest that apostrophes are used in place of "double vowels", such as Ze'ev or Ma'ale. However, in the cases of Givatayim or Malakhi, the alef/ein sounds like a single English vowel ("a" in both cases) and I don't think they need an apostrophe (and I don't think I have ever seen them written with one other than on here). I also saw somewhere on Wikipedia a "Shmuel" with one in it (Shmu'el) which I think is totally unnecessary. Number 57 21:13, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jushiro
That's odd, considering that we make a big deal about the shiro-shiro thing between him and Hitsugaya. --tjstrf talk 00:24, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- I did know about the nth son thing being common in names though, I just incorrectly assumed the editor was adding a meaning for the name that didn't match this particular individual's, like kept happening with Byakuya a while back. --tjstrf talk 00:27, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- I remember seeing the connection made in one of those colour specials. (The one where Hitsugaya gets a life-sized statue of himself as a gift.) Problem is, since those are the sort of oneshot thing you read online rather than store, it's not as simple to find the reference for. --tjstrf talk 00:33, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Good suggestion!
Thanks for your excellent suggestion re Pallywood, i.e. moving it to Allegations of media manipulation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I've proposed this formally - your comments would be welcomed at Talk:Pallywood#Requested move. -- ChrisO 11:32, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] While we're on the subject of categories
I started a discussion earlier today at the wikiproject page about possibly merging the anime and manga versions of the genre categories together, since they're redundant. Not soliciting your opinion one direction or the other, but you reminded me of it and I think it deserves wider input. (I'm hoping to reach consensus one way or the other on the talk page and avoid the headache of running a giant CfD.) --tjstrf talk 09:17, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bet/Beit
Yes, I would go for Beit rather than Bet. I've just moved Ofaqim to Ofakim. Two other potentially controversial moves I would like to see are Beersheba (its biblical name) to Be'er Sheva and Petah Tikva to Petakh Tikva. Number 57 21:40, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
- I can accept the Beersheva one, but the Petakh Tikva thing really annoys me. H is correct only at the start of a word (i.e. you wouldn't have Khaifa), but in the middle of a word or at the end, the Kh needs to be pronounced - it isn't Peta Tikva (how it would sound with an "ah" at the end) - it's PetaKH Tikva. Also, I don't set any stall in how many hits something gets on Google - all it shows is how many people are right or wrong :) Number 57 22:02, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
- Whatever "ḥ" is, I can't see it on my computer! This is not a Latin wikipedia - it's English, and there are differences between how different languages use the same alphabet - we don't differentiate between Het and Kaph in the way Mizrahis do - it's the same to English speakers, hence the letter being the same. Anyway, we need to be consistent with Hets, so if Petah Tikva remains so, Sakhnin and Kiryat Malakhi should lose their k's too - though I would prefer the addition of a k to Petah Tikva! Also, I think the Kfar issue needs attention - I have seen it Kafr, Kfar, Kefar and Kafar - surely it should just be Kfar? Another couple that should be changed - Qalansawe and Qatzrin. I would also like to see Nes Tziona, Hertzelia and even Rishon Letzion! Number 57 22:34, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oops - just realised Malakhi and Sakhnin are not spelt with Hets! Anyway, it is effectively the same thing to English ears :) Number 57 22:46, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Mapmaker mapmaker make me a map"
Hi Yan, I was wondering if you could put together something to replace Image:Expansion plan Ma'ale Adummim.gif, which aside from playing a games with Mt. Scopus, has its edge right before the Green line, so that it appears that places like E. Talpiot are in the middle of nowhere, and it defines the Old City etc. as "Palestinian built-up". Many thanks, TewfikTalk 03:51, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

- Hi. Would you guys have anything to add here: Image talk:Israel and occupied territories map.png? --Shuki 19:49, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Got it - also check out Category talk:Maps of the Palestinian territories. As for the map, it was licensed as fair-use, but I challenged that since it should be replaceable. And I believe Pisgat 'Omer is the original "official" name for what became PZ south. Cheers, TewfikTalk 20:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Re: your comments, you'll probably want to sound off here. Cheers, TewfikTalk 02:26, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- ChrisO actually deleted the original while the discussion was still ongoing. The modified map is now gone and just appearing from the Commons. Could you reproduce the unmodified from here to Image:Israel.png? Many thanks, TewfikTalk 06:25, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Beth She'arim
Wow! That is fast! I only created the stub two seconds ago, and was looking for the correct categories when you had already added them. Great! You don't know, by chance, which would be the correct stub-message? That would save me some time searching through the stub-lists. Thanks, --Hippalus 11:12, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

“ | When someone added that spelling, I assumed it was a typo. Where have you seen it spelled that way? -- Ynhockey (Talk) 11:58, 31 March 2007 (UTC) | ” |
Actually, I have not. It just... Zarakipwns' work didn't look like a vandalism attempt. It looked like a sincere attempt to add a translation from whatever source he was using that we lacked, as opposed to a systematic (or otherwise) attempt to destroy the article. --Warp L. Obscura 13:22, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough, then. --Warp L. Obscura 13:30, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Unsourced anti-Israel statements
Hi Yan,
I just found him myself several minutes ago. You may also want to comment here, as your last comments were deleted with the image. TewfikTalk 05:02, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mandate/Mandatory
Hi again. I've re-reverted your change on the Mordechai Namir page. Mandate Palestine is the term used by the British government (see here and here) and the BBC, so is about as official as you can get! The use of mandatory is somewhat confusing, as it means "compulsory", rather than specifically referring to a Mandate territory. Number 57 17:12, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
