[edit] Summer at Camp Dead Hollow
Summer at Camp Dead Hollow is the second Philip and William Mysteries TV movie. It is a crossover with the Creepy Kids from the latter's own animated series.
[edit] Notes
- Villain(s): None
- Allies: Creepy Kids
- The title of the movie is a reference to "Summer of Camp Caprice", a TV Movie for the Nickelodeon animated series As Told By Ginger.
[edit] Part One
At the start of the movie, we find Philip and William, along with several other students, waiting at a bus stop for the bus to arrive and take them to summer camp. The brothers talk excitedly about summer camp, and Philip mentions telling campfire stories about ghosts and monsters, which scares William. Philip pretends he's a vampire and chases William around the bus stop.
While the brothers are gone, the bus pulls up and the other students get onto the bus. The bus driver, whose name is Ralph, asks if everybody's there, and the students all say yes. The bus drives off without Philip and William; however, just as the brothers finish their game, another bus drives up. This one is very old and worn-down, with a skull insignia over the windshield that marks it as coming from Terrortown, Transylvania (from The Creepy Kids animated series). The brothers climb onto the bus, assuming that it's theirs, only to find the bus filled with monster kids. Ivan waves to the Devons, and the brothers go to sit down with the Creepy Kids (William's fears are calmed by the friendly expressions on the Kids' faces). The Devons and the Creepy Kids introduce themselves in turn, and quickly find they have a lot in common (despite the latter being monsters and the former being human kids).
The bus pulls into Camp Dead Hollow, which an old, termite-eaten sign boasts is "The West Side's paradise", although William briefly comments that he disagrees. The Creepy Kids look forward to two weeks of healthy exercise, good food, and games, though the Devons are skeptical at first. The week passes with the Creepy Kids enjoying themselves immnesely (even the eternal worrywart Sirena admits to having fun) while the Devon brothers are miserable. William complains of the lack of good human food (apparently, the cafeteria serves "worms and swamp water" for lunch) and Philip tells Circe Jr. that he will turn into a skeleton himself if he doesn't get any exercise, but the lake is poisonous to the brothers' health and the "hiking path" is full of thorns and vicious animals. Circe Jr. relates this to the other Kids, and Dracula Jr. tells them he has a plan.
[edit] Part Two
While the Bogeyman and his son Bogeyboy lead a trek down the "hiking path", Little Nessie invites Philip and William on a boat ride across the lake. Circe Jr. promises the brothers that they don't even have to touch the lake water if they don't like. After some forethought, the brothers agree.
At the boat, Circe Jr., Dracula Jr., and Ivan are waiting for the brothers. William asks where the other Kids are, but Dracula Jr. lies and says they went on the hike. The five kids set off across the lake, at which point Little Nessie pops her head out of the murky black water, her hair wet and a smile on her face. Meanwhile, the brothers are actually enjoying themselves, which Philip admits to being rather surprised about. Without giving a warning of any sort, Circe Jr. suddenly throws a spell at the boat, causing it to sink. The brothers start to panic, even Philip screams in William's characteristic shrill scream.
The kids are picked up by what looks like the Loch Ness monster, only smaller. It is Little Nessie, but in monster form rather than human form. She winks at the Devons, and ferries the kids back to the shore. Upon reaching land, Little Nessie resumes human form, and the brothers kiss the ground. The next day, as they all board the bus, Philip and William tell the Creepy Kids that they had fun, which Dracula Jr. knew they would.
The bus drops Philip and William off at the bus stop, where their father is there to pick up the bros. As they climb into the car, Mr. Devon asks them how summer camp, and Philip says it was horrific, but quickly corrects himself and says "terrific". The brothers grin at each other while Mr. Devon wonders what that meant. Meanwhile, the Creepy Kids are just entering Terrortown, and inside the bus, Dracula Jr. and Frankenstein Jr. exchange a high-five while Circe Jr. and Little Nessie hug. Ivan and Little Bigfoot laugh happily. The movie ends on this happy note.
[edit] Memorable Quotes
- (The Terrortown bus pulls into Camp Dead Hollow)
Dracula Jr.: Well, there it is. Camp Dead Hollow. The West Side's paradise.
(As he says this, we see a sign that reads the exact same thing)
William: Paradise? I seriously doubt it.
- (The Devon brothers climb onto the bus)
Philip: (cheerily) Hello, fellow . . .
(He trails off, seeing that the bus is filled with monster kids; he backs up)
Philip: I think we're on the wrong bus.
(Ivan waves to them)
William: (banging on the door) Get me off this bus!!!
Bus Driver: (gruffly, in a zombielike monotone) Hey, you, get to your seat.
(The boys sit down on either side of Dracula Jr.)
William: Heh, heh . . . uh, hey.
Little Nessie: I like you, you're cute.
(William faints, and Philip laughs)
[edit] Philip and William Mysteries: A Dead Future
Philip and William Mysteries: A Dead Future is the name of the third TV movie for the animated series Philip and William Mysteries.
[edit] Notes
- Villain(s): Evil William (Super-William), Michelle (the possessed bike), Ghost Sailor, Julius and Khatan-Or
- Allies: Ms. Josef, the Future Fighters (Future Philip, Sara Joyster, and an unnamed girl who looks like Ms. Josef)
- Evil William, the villain of this movie, is somewhat a parody of Dark Danny a.k.a. "Dan Phantom", the villain of a Danny Phantom episode entitled "The Ultimate Enemy".
[edit] Part One
It is Sunday and, somewhat appropriately, it really is a sunny day. Mr. Devon is busy designing a helmet-like machine for the government agency that he works for. While he is working, his children, Philip and William, poke their heads in to see what he's working on. The brothers are immediately intrigued when Mr. Devon tells them that the machine can create energy out of microscopic particles in the atmosphere.
That evening, Mr. Devon goes to a dinner party at the Joyvle family's house, leaving the brothers home by themselves. While Philip is busy reading his book, William sneaks down to the basement, where the Matter Transverter (Mr. Devon's name for his machine) sits on a table. William picks up the helmet and puts in on his head, and pretends he's a superhero. As he waves his hands around, pretending to be firing energy waves at imaginary foes, he accidentally hits the switch on the helmet that activates it, giving him a massive discharge of energy (making him look like he's been electrocuted).
The next day, at school, the students in Philip and William's class are taking notes on Lord of the Flies. At least, most of the students are taking notes; William is busy playing around with his newfound superpowers. He accidentally blows out a wall at the back of the room, and Ms. Josef asks who did that. A panicked William pins the blame on his brother, who is equally shocked that his normally-truthful sibling would lie like that (Philip saw the whole accident first-hand). Ms. Josef gives the brothers detention in the library, and also invites Mr. Devon, who realizes from Ms. Josef's story that William used the Matter Transverter without permission.
At this point, we flash-forward 100 years to the future. A group of crimefighters called the Future Fighters (a parody of teenage superhero teams like the Teen Titans and the Young Justice) are gathering. Among this contigent are a girl named Sara Joyster, who looks remarkably like Sarah Jovyle in a white jumpsuit, and a girl who could be Ms. Josef's future daughter. The Future Fighters observe these events of William's detention on a large-screen television. As they watch, William kills Philip with a plasma blast, and traps Mr. Devon in a time-space vortex, though Ms. Josef manages to escape. After witnessing this, the Future Fighters send a Fighter named Stopwatch (a parody of the Danny Phantom character Clockwork) to try and stop Evil William from recreating the horrible event that will end the future "as [they] know it, at least what little of it there is".
[edit] Part Two
After the commercial break, present-day William awakes in a mysteriously dark area of Willis Heights. He wonders where he is, but doesn't have long to wonder, as he is suddenly beset by a driverless motorcycle whom he recognizes as Michelle the possessed bike (from "A Motorbike Built for BOO!"). Just as Michelle is about to corner William, she runs out of fuel; she coughs, and tells William that when she returned to take revenge on the Devons (after the events of "A Motorbike Built for BOO!"), William "shut [her] down but good" and she has not been able to find an alternate power source without wearing herself out. William crawls out of his hiding place to pat Michelle on her handlebars (her "head"), but Michelle revs up her wheels, causing William to back away in fear. William raises his arms to threaten Michelle that he'll blast her, but his superpowers somehow have disappeared.
After wandering the streets of the darkened Willis Heights, William is attacked once more, by two zombies and a familiar-looking ghost. They are Julius and his henchman Khatan-Or from "Superstar Wars" and the Ghost Sailor from "The Ghost Bride", who has somehow found a voice. Julius blames William for his death, and the Sailor claims William attacked him with William's superpowers, which William tries to tell them he doesn't have anymore, but the undead foes refuse to listen. William is about to be mauled when a blast of energy plows away the enemies; it turns out that the one who shot the blast was Sara Joyster. Ms. Josef's "daughter" is there as well, along with a version of Philip in a silver suit. The Future Fighters tell William that they want to help him stop his future self, but William questions how, to which Future Philip (who is revealed to be a ghost) replies that he will use one of their supersuits. Sara asks whether that's a good idea or not, but Philip retorts that it's either that, or have William end up like "him".
[edit] Part Three
In the present, Philip and Evil William (disguised as present-day William) are being led to the library by Ms. Josef. Philip asks why "William" didn't tell the truth, to which he questions why he would have to, since he can do whatever he wants with his new superpowers.
While present-day Philip and his evil brother are facing their fate, the real William is trying out one of the Future Supersuits that Future Philip talked about. William doesn't seem to have the hang of it yet, and keeps blasting at targets that are not the right target, such as Sara and Stopwatch (who had returned to make sure William didn't ruin anything). Future Philip slaps his head in embarrassment and wonders aloud why he even "join[ed] this club".
In the library, Mr. Devon interrogates "William" on his lying as well as his misuse of the Matter Transverter. "William" transforms to Evil William and attacks, firing an energy ball at Ms. Josef and Mr. Devon, which catches the latter but misses the former. At that point, the real William appears, wearing the supersuit. Evil William threatens William, to which the real McCoy responds that he never lies and, at this, Evil William attacks his good self.
While they are battling, Philip gets to his feet and wields a Blaster Gun that Mr. Devon gave him (in the episode "That's Life for Y'all"). He fires the gun, dissolving the shield surrounding Mr. Devon. William throws Evil William into a shelf of books, and Evil William fires an "inescapable beam that will destroy [William] on the spot". However, William creates an energy shield from his suit that deflects the beam back at Evil William, destroying him. The Future Fighters (plus Stopwatch) appear to congratulate William, but Philip is bewildered at seeing his future self (on a sidenote, Future Philip is now solid and wearing a supersuit like William).
Stopwatch "rewinds" time back to the point at which William destroyed the wall with his superpowers. Again Ms. Josef asks what is going on. William is about to blame Philip again, but noticing a look from his brother, he tells the truth and admits to the crime. Ms. Josef says he will have to get detention, but she is proud that he told the truth (as is Philip). At detention, Philip tells his brother that he, too, is proud of him, but Philip seems to have no memory of the battle with Evil William. As William looks off to the side, the Future Fighters can be seen standing in a glowing silver energy shield that makes them invisible to anyone from the present. The Fighters wink at William, who slyly winks back, and the episode ends.
[edit] Notable Quotes
- (The Future Fighters train William to use the supersuit)
Sara: That's good. Aim the arm gun and just fire.
Future Philip: Don't think, just fire.
(William fires, but accidentally hits Sara and Stopwatch)
Future Philip: (slapping his head) Why'd I join this club anyway?
- (William fights his evil twin in the library)
William: You won't get away with this!
Evil William: Oh, but you already have.
(He fires at William, who turns insubtantial to avoid the shot)
- (The Future Fighters appear after Evil William is destroyed)
Sara: Hey, nice job William!
Stopwatch: You did good, kid. I salute you. (he does so)
Future Philip: Yo, Philip, hats off to me . . . . er, I mean you.
Philip: Huh, are you me?
Future Philip: What I do look like, an evil alien space invader? Of course I'm you!
[edit] Philip and William in Outer Space
Philip and William in Outer Space is the first Philip and William Mysteries special and it originally aired on July 18, 2005.
[edit] Notes
- Villain: Gorg Knifelian
- Allies: Gorn Knifelian, Ms. Asymov (Gorn's teacher), Gorn's classmates
- Gorn, the new alien ally introduced in this special, refers to Philip and William collectively as "Earthlings" in a complimentary way instead of a condenscending way, a first for any Martian.
[edit] Part 1 Synopsis- Introduction to the Martians
In Willis Heights, Philip Devon is racing his brother William down a street on their skateboards. The camera then cuts to a spaceship, where an alien, named Gorn is looking out the window. He says to himself that he cannot let his teacher, Ms. Asymov (her name a reference to sci-fi author Isaac Asimov) down, and so he must find a science project. He starts thinking and his mind hits on a plan: abduct two Earthlings/humans and use them for his science project. He wonders why he didn't think of it before as he runs to the Control Room of his spaceship home.
In the hallway, Gorn runs into his older sibling, Gorg, who chastises the younger alien. He says he used his telekinetic mind-reading powers to "ascertain that you would make leave" for the Control Chamber. Gorn is confused by all the scientific speech, but explains that he intends to abduct two Earthlings for use in his research, to which Gorg reminds him snidely that their parents forbid them from using the Earthling-Abduction Ray, but Gorn them reminds him that their parents are not home at the moment. The older brother responds with "Touché." and takes his leave of the younger extraterrestrial.
With that out of the way, Gorn heads to the Control Room and sets the spaceship's IPS (Intergalactic Positioning System, the outer-space equivalent of our Global Positioning System or GPS) for Earth. The ship's Auto-Pilot activates and says "Please activate Turbo-Booster Rockets to engage transport to Earth." Gorn, who looks obviously annoyed with being ordered around by a CPU, heads to the opposite wall and smacks a red button marked "Turbo-Boosters" with his hand. The ship zooms across space, sending up enough engine smoke to black out the screen.
[edit] Part 2 Synopsis- Mission to Earth
Upon arriving on Earth, Gorn uses the IPS to search out two decent "specimens" for his project. The System catches just the two specimens (Philip and William) in the midst of a skateboard race, and Gorn orders Auto-Pilot to activate the Earthling-Abduction Ray, to which the CPU, in a female voice, replies that it's a computer, not an obedient servant. Gorn, impatient, tells it to "get on with it", so the CPU continues with the process. Down on Earth's surface, the Devon brothers are more than shocked to find themselves floating weightlessly in midair as the bright golden light brings them up into the ship.
On board the ship, Gorn greets his two new "specimens", referring to them as Earthlings since he doesn't know their real names. Philip gives their names, and Gorn gives his. When Gorn puts out his hand, William reaches out eagerly to shake it, but Gorn says he doesn't shake hands with science project specimens, and that he needs to put bracelets on their arms so that he can "keep an eye or two" (the "two" being on his eyestalks) on them. Philip raises his voice in anger, saying that they're not specimens, they're people (parodying the famous line by Number Six from The Prisoner), but a calm Gorn replies that, while they may still be his specimens, he'll treat them like he would any guest to the Knifelians' spaceship home. Unbenownst of the three of them, Gorg is standing outside the closed door, his abnormally large ear (both Knifelian children have large elflike ears) pressed against the metal, overhearing the entire conversation. Gorg hatches a plan to steal whatever Gorn's using for his science project, since he knows any good science project cannot rely on specimens alone.
Gorn shows the brothers to their room, which is the guest room of the spaceship. As he leaves to go fetch them some food, Gorg pops in to deliver some insults to the newcomers. William is about to pound the alien teenager's lights out when Gorn returns with some hamburgers and milkshakes, and tells Gorg to buzz off. The brothers marvel at Gorn's "exquisite cuisine", but Gorn, blushing, says that he's just been studying Earth cuisine at his Martian college. Gorn also says that his "specimens" must be well-fed and well-rested before they can meet his classmates tomorrow. He tells the boys to get some rest, since he, er, they, have a big day tomorrow. As Gorg spies on them, he snickers to himself that indeed they do.
[edit] Part 3 Synopsis- The Evil Plan
While sleeping, the Devons are awoken by a loud alarm that sounds exactly like a fire alarm. Philip and William awake, panicked, but they are greeted warmly by Gorn who tells them that what they just heard was his alarm clock. The brothers are shocked, but Gorn tells his "specimens" to get dressed, since "today is the day". The spaceship heads straight for the Martian Gybor Academy (pronounced like "cyber", but with a "g").
At the Academy, Gorn proudly shows off his two Earthling specimens to his classmates, as well as an invention that, he claims, "can extract the life-force, what enables you to be here as I speak, right out of you". Many students gasp, but Gorn reassures them that he would never use the project on them. Just as he finishes saying this, Gorg bursts into the room and seizes the invention, saying that though Gorn may never use it, he, Gorg, most certainly will. Gorg activates the machine, sending all the students' life-forces, including that of Gorn, into Gorg's body and transforming him into a muscular greenish alien not unlike the Incredible Hulk. Philip grabs his brother's arm and pulls him down under Ms. Asymov's table, while the teacher has unfortunately also become a victim of the life force-draining machine. William says they have to save Gorn and the others, otherwise they may be "down and out" for good; this gives Philip an idea. He grabs William's arm again and throws the two of them at Gorg, against William's screaming protests. The two crash into the evil alien teen, knocking him to the floor with enough force to break the machine, which in turn sends all the aliens' life forces back into their bodies.
Later, while Gorg is being led off to the Principal's office so they can call his parents, Ms. Asymov presents Gorn with the best grade an alien student of Gybor University can have: a Gray A, which Gorn tells the Devons is like an A+ on "their planet", Earth. Back at the spaceship, the brothers again stand on the golden circle while the spaceship heads back to Earth; once there, Gorn activates the Earthling Abduction sequence once more, which reverses the process and sends the two humans back down to Earth where they can continue their race. A very sad Gorn heads to his room, which is right across from his brother's. As his automatic door slides shut, Gorg can be seen looking out the window, but Gorn apparently is in too melancholy of a mood to notice. As he looks out the window himself, he imagines Philip and William's faces in the night sky, smiling at him, and he waves to them. The episode ends on that.
[edit] Philip and William in "The Santa Swap"
The Santa Swap is the 35th episode of Philip and William Mysteries and it is the show's Christmas special, first airing on Christmas 2001.
[edit] Notes
- Villain(s): St. Rogue, the Evil Elves
- Allies: Santa Claus, the Elf Trio
- A running gag in this episode is that nobody besides William can tell that Santa and Philip were body-swapped.
[edit] Part One Synopsis- The Body-Snatcher
It was Christmas Eve at the Devon household, and Mr. Devon was putting the last finishing touches on a new invention of his on while his kids, the Devon brothers, finished decorating the house for the annual Devon Christmas Party. When Philip and William came in to check on their father's progress, Mr. Devon told them that he had successfully built a body-swapping device (self-explanatory). As with all his other inventions, he gave his sons strict instructions not to touch the device under any circumstances. Since it was late at night he also told the brothers to get some rest.
Meanwhile, at Christmastown in the North Pole, Santa Claus was overseeing his elves' progress on toy-making. His three most trusted advisors, Mary, St. Anne, and Ramie (collectively known as the Elf Trio) stood nearby, ready to get to work on whatever instruction Santa gave them.
That night, at the Devon House, William tried to sleep by convincing himself of the presents that would be under the tree the next morning. However, he eventually snuck out of bed and went down to the basement, where the body-swapping device was. Philip, who had followed him downstairs, tried to warn him that "Dad won't be too happy about this", but as usual William ignored him. He leaned against the device as he assured Philip that he wouldn't actually touch the device; however, in doing so William's arm pushed the lever down to activate the device. A bluish-white ray shot from the device, bounced around the walls of the small room, and hit Philip square in the head.
At the North Pole, Santa was heading back to his office, leaving the Elf Trio with strict instructions that no elf should disturb him while he was inspecting the "Naughty and Nice List". As the bluish-white ray shot over his head, Santa looked up just as the ray ricocheted back toward him and bowled him over. The Elf Trio, hearing the crash, rushed over to their boss to see if he was all right. When Santa sat up, he held his head and moaned, in Philip's voice. Apparently the ray swapped Philip's body with the big guy!
[edit] Part Two Synopsis- A Christmas Crisis
At the Devon House, William helped Philip to his feet. Upon hearing Philip's query about his location, the clever William figured out what he had done. Santa quickly realized as well, though he didn't know how it happened. Santa and William decided that they had to get to Christmastown, and William added that they should bring the ray in order to swap Santa and Philip's body back.
In Santa's Office in Christmastown, the Elf Trio talk with Philip in Santa's body. No matter how many times he tries to convince them, Philip just can't get the three Head Elves to believe that he isn't Santa Claus. Throwing in the towel, he asks the Elf Trio to help him prepare the sleigh, and also that they should brief him on his usual routine (he uses amnesia as an excuse for why he forgot the routine). At the Devon House, William leads Santa to the Devon garage where Mr. Devon's special 'rocket-car' sat. In answer to Santa asking how the car could help them, William explains that his father made the car to transport "anyone anywhere in half the time it would normally take"; in other words, they could reach the North Pole in half the time it would take Santa to reach it in his sleigh.
After some issues with Santa getting used to his new size and weight (which are considerably different, since Philip look nothing like Santa), the two climb into the Rocket-Car; William offers to drive, which Santa accepts since he's never "driven anything bigger than a sleigh". Meanwhile, in Santa's Workshop, an evil elf dressed all in black, named St. Rogue speaks with a small group of elves whom he convinces are not getting large enough wages from the big man. Therefore, Rogue proposes, they should attack Santa when he next enters the Workshop and demand higher wages. As the elves cheer for Rogue, the elf smiles wickedly and says to himself that he'll be "Santa in no time" though he has no intention of "putting on the pounds to wear the suit".
[edit] Part Three Synopsis- Battle in Christmastown
William and Santa arrive in Christmastown in the Rocket-Car only to be met by the Christmastown Elf Police Department. The toughened elves refuse to believe that Philip is really Santa in the former's body, so they drag the two boys off to see Santa so he could decide what to do with them. In the Workshop, Philip enters with the Elf Trio just in time to get attacked by an angry mob of elves, led by St. Rogue. Standing on top of a mountain of presents, St. Rogue speaks into a bullhorn, saying to give Santa no mercy as he had never given them any. The CEPD arrive with their prisoners in order to stop the elven riot. The Elf Trio rush off to lead the good elves against the evil elf mob. Philip and Santa look at each other and are very confused to see their own bodies with each other's voices.
St. Rogue runs up to Santa (Philip) and demands that these children be thrown out. However, Philip (the real Santa) tackles the rogue elf and knocks him down, and the two proceed to fight. As they do so, William shows his body-swapped brother the device, which he had brought with them. Philip tells William to get the device working again and quickly. After some tinkering, the device sputters, shooting sparks into the air. One of the Elf Trio, St. Anne, runs over and takes the device while berating William for using it wrong. She fixes the body-swap device in no time, and aims it at Philip and Santa, the latter of whom is still wrestling with Rogue. Another blast of light shoots from the device and hits the two previous victims; when the light dissipates, Santa is Santa again and Philip is himself once more. St. Rogue gulps as he is picked up by a furious Santa, who tosses the elf to the CEPD. The Elf Trio glare at St. Rogue as he is handcuffed and thrown into an elf-sized police van.
[edit] Epilogue
Santa flies Philip and William back to their house in his sleigh and waves to them. Before he can depart, Philip asks about whether they were "naughty or nice". The jovial Santa tells the brothers that they have both been good this year, as has their best friend, Sarah Jovyle. Therefore, the three children shall be receiving Christmas presents the next morning.
The boys rush off to bed without waking their father. The next morning, the boys wake up and hurry downstairs. Their father is waiting for them, as are many of their school friends. Mr. Devon tells the brothers to "inspect the presents", which they do with glee. To their delight, they did each get gifts: a new skateboard for William and a research book ("The New Book of Everything A Genius Needs to Know") for Philip, which his younger brother scoffs at. As Mr. Devon starts playing "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", we cut to Christmastown where a ginormous parade is taking place. Elves stand on both sides as Santa and his sleigh, driven by the familiar reindeer, ride down the path normally only taken on Christmas Eve. The sounds of cheering and Christmas spirit reach St. Rogue, who is sitting in a prison cell by himself. He snorts through his nose and mutters "Ah, Christmas, who needs it?!". The episode ends on that.
