Portal:Law selections
Greetings, fellow WikiProject Law member! One of our tasks on this WikiProject is the upkeep of Portal:Law, where we have set up a four week cycle wherein each week one of four key features - the selected article, biography, case, or image - is rotated out. Previous selections can be found at Portal:Law/former selections. Please contribute your thoughts at Portal talk:Law as to likely candidates for future rotations in each of these categories. Cheers! My RfA
Hello, Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington/Archive/Archive04, and thank you for voting on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 84/1/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months, but welcome any and all feedback and suggestions on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! I reverted the Talk: Aaron Brown page. The junk I deleted has nothing to do with the content of the article. I figured I'd let you know that, so you wouldn't think I'm a vandal or someone that has no clue what Wikipedia is about. OsFan 21:10, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Where exactly did you get that there was a "capitalised sense"? I see nothing in Wikipedia policy to support your claim, nor in the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, nor on thefreedictionary.com. elvenscout742 17:22, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Never said "went wrong"
You're jumping to conclusion and making statements based upon them that are rather annoying. Read carefully the full text of what I said. I even did like yourself and explained that the proper review of what has been occurring is needed. Netscott 13:58, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your apology, as I just wrote on User:Ste4k's talk page it probably was just a question of a lack of explicitness in my commentary... I suppose such a lack can make it a bit difficult to understand. Netscott 14:36, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Saw your comments, I tend to go for nuclear warning with a shared IP, and a much shorter block of 15 mins or something like that. My Edits to Khalistan article
Hi! appreciate your concern on the edits. However the edits are in utmost good faith with high regard to to wikipedia NPOV policy. The so called references on the basis of which my edits are being reverted are blatantly biased and therfore highlyl disputed. The article presents part truth in a highly twisted manner that is completely derogatory of the Indian establishment. Many thanks! AnwarA 12:01, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Your edits might not have been actually vandalism, but they were in the violation of the three revert rule on Wikipedia. Constant edit-warring is not considered to be good for the project. --Nearly Headless Nick 12:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Wiki_Indians meet-up?
Idea sounds good, but I couldn't even make it to a meet-up in Bangalore recently (Kannada wp). As most of us are from different places, I'd think that it'd be difficult to pull it off. Also, real life has been catching up with me of late ;). We should probly have a straw poll on WT:INWNB on this issue - wrt date, time, venue etc. Funding wd be another issue - Wikimedia foundation would be more interested in sponsoring meet-ups for Indian languages' Wikipedias. --Gurubrahma 13:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: Khalistan
Hi! I would request you to view of a history of the edits on the Khalistan. I had earnestly set about to rid the article of POV and unnecessary and irrelevant anti-India, anti-Hindu statements. Where as Zafarnama is constantly re-introducing these edits. Statements like:
"Mary Anne Weaver of the Christian Science Monitor reports that the army operation was followed by killings of Sikh males between the ages of 15 and 35 in Punjab’s villages..."
"Punjab's current water levels ..." (these have nothing to do with the article.
"State Terror followed by Militant Response by Sikhs..."
I, user:sukh and a lot of other editors have tried to reason with but to no avail. Please see talk page. If I were to insert my POV, I could make a mention of countless acts of atrocities committed by sikh militants led by Bhindrawale. But apparently, whoever does not subsribe to Zafarnama's views is either a criminal or a liar. (He calls Khushwant Singh a liar too). He has called me a bigoted Hindu. Please see his uncivility on the talk page.
I don't care if you just delete the article, but as long as it is there, I will not allow it to be used for propogating hate against any community and in particular any country. AnwarA 04:02, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- I deeply appreciate the way that you have taken up the subject. Its always good to get a consensus before making a big change in any article. However, you can be bold if you like. Wikipedia has a three revert rule which you violated on the article. In case, some other user reverts to version which other users do not agree to, you can derieve consesus about the subject on the talk page of the article. Keep the rules in mind and be flexible, that'll do the trick. Warm regards, --Nearly Headless Nick 13:59, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Quick Question
Hi, I just have a quick Wikipedia protocal question.
I want to turn this page: List of guest stars on The Simpsons into something like this page: List of South Park episodes with the charts and images of each various thing. However, this would involve somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 images on one page. So, I was wondering what Wikipedias protocal on the matter is. Thanks! ~Scorpion0422
- I think having 400 images on a single page wouldn't be advisable. You could rather put up images of prominent episodes of the programme. I have to admit that I am not an expert in this matter, you would be better off asking this on the help desk or the administrator notice-board. Regards, --Nearly Headless Nick 09:35, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

USA PATRIOT Act Titles |

Title I: Enhancing Domestic Security against Terrorism |
Title II: Enhanced Surveillance Procedures |
Title III: International Money Laundering Abatement and Anti-terrorist Financing Act of 2001 |
Title IV: Protecting the border |

Title VI: Providing for victims of terrorism, public safety officers and their families |
Title VII: Increased information sharing for critical infrastructure protection |
Title VIII: Strengthening the criminal laws against terrorism |

The one I'm going to get started on sometime is USA PATRIOT Act, Title VI, but if you want to help grab any of the uncompleted articles in the template to the right. I'm currently summarising them, later I will see about going to the UNSW to find sources that comment on the Titles or the Act itself.
