[edit] Fair use images in user space
Thetanmancan, I noticed that you were using two fair use images in your user space. Please note that fair use images are not acceptable outside of article space per Wikipedia:Fair use#Policy criterion #9. This is because a "fair use" image is one that is uploaded to Wikipedia without the consent — in some cases, directly running contrary to the expressed views — of the copyright holder. Fair use is part of United States law, and is an excellent asset for an encylcopedia: because of fair use, when you read Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima, you can critically analyze the image while you are reading the text. But it is inacceptable and against policy to use fair use images on one's user space and in general outside of articles. Thank you for your understanding. --Iamunknown 02:29, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
