Wesley "Wes" Whitead is the Iowa State Representative from the 1st District. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2002. He had previously served in the House, but lost to Greg Hoverstein in 2000. [1]
Whitead currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Government Oversight committee; the Local Government committee; the Natural Resources committee; the State Government committee; and the Veterans Affairs committee, where he is chair.
Whitead was re-elected in 2006 with 5,075 votes, defeating Republican opponent Jamie Simmons. [2]
