York Regional Road 83 is a short 0.73 miles Arterial road located in East Gwillimbury (Newmarket), Ontario. It is normally called Holland Landing Rd.
[edit] History
This road was part of the original alignment of the Ferguson Highway, which became Highway 11. In the 1950s, a bypass to the south was constructed to help alleviate growing traffic through the town. The bypass as constructed divided expressway, and became the new alignment of Highway 11. York Regional Road 83 then became Highway 11B, before being decommissioned in 1998, along with all parts of Highway 11 south of Barrie.
It starts at Yonge Street (York Regional Road 1/Former Highway 11), and bends twice and ends with Yonge Street (at York Regional Road 13) once more.
