FK Ventspils is a Latvian Virsliga football team. The club's home ground is the 3,200 capacity Ventspils Olimpiskais Stadions in Ventspils, Latvia. In total, FK Ventspils have won one league titles and three Latvian Cups. During the 2006 season, they became Virsliga champions.

FK Ventspils was founded in 1997. FK Ventspils plays instead of Vecrīga (Rīga) due to Vecrīga's refusal. FK Ventspils is a merger of FK Venta and Nafta, which played in 1. līga last year.

Ventspils first played in a match for the Championship of the Latvia. The match was held on April 12, 1997. In the first game of Latvian championship, Ventspils lost to Skonto FC 0:3.

Their first game in the Cup of the Latvia took place on April 26, 1997 with Cerība/Līvāni from Preiļi. The game ended in a win 7:1.

Ventspils participated in 10 championships of the Latvia. Participants of 10 cup-ties of the Cup of the Latvia.

On June 19, 1999 Ventspils first played with a European team in the first round of the Intertoto Cup of UEFA. They played draw this game with Vålerenga IF (Oslo, Norway).

They have appeared in the UEFA Cup qualifiers on occasions, notably in a qualifying round versus Newcastle United of England in 2006, though this was held at the Skonto stadions in Rīga for television purposes. Newcastle went on to win the tie 1-0 on aggregate but were frequently frustrated with Ventspils' defensive display.

FK Ventspils currently lead the Latvian league with a record amount of games unbeaten.
