71.113.178.235 seems to have removed the link to Final Fantasy III under the assumption that it was referring to the SNES game released in the USA of the same name. There was a floating continent in Final Fantasy III, the game released for the NES, and soon to be re-released for the DS. Since it predates the example in Final Fantasy VI by several years, it is the earliest use of such a landmass that I am aware of as a location in a game, and notable for that reason.
It's difficult to comprehend this articles multitudinous insignificance, but I'm convinced it is so.

Should realized fantasy worlds (I.e. Skyland, Baiten Kaitos, Skies of Arcadia) be included in this article as well? It's an uncommon but not rare motif in fantasy fiction, it seems.
