Fernsehturm signifie en allemand « tour de télévision ». On trouve ces édifices dans beaucoup de grandes villes d'Allemagne, notamment:
- la Fernsehturm de Berlin
- la Tour de télévision de Stuttgart
- la Rheinturm Düsseldorf
- la Fernsehturm de Munich
- la Fernsehturm de Francfort
Les tours de télévision en Allemagne, au-delà de leur simple fonction utilitaire, ont été au moment de leur érection (dans les années 1970 et 80) l'occasion pour de nombreux architectes d'exprimer leur talent.
