[edit] Backlit Spongebob?

Can I get a confirmation source that the Spongebob SP features the new backlight? Kat, Queen of Typos 20:06, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

could i also get a confimation that all new SPs have the backlit? or do they still make the ones with the frontlit?

[edit] CPU

Arm 7 processor,precisely an ARM7TDMI:

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Election_candidates_2005/En

(i'm afraid of copying the specifications of the site because it will seems too much equal with this site)

(as saif in the faq "Generally, a summary (or analysis) of something is not a derivative work, unless it reproduces the original in great detail, at which point it becomes an abridgement and not a summary.") The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.140.6.97 (talk • contribs) 15:33, 2 July 2005 (UTC).

[edit] Special

Here's a link to the FAQ on Nintendo's website that shows that SP stands for Special: [1]. This article and the Handheld game console article both are changed on a regular basis to the incorrect "special project", and although it's minor, well, it's wrong. I agree that the link doesn't belong in the article (except maybe in a bibliography). --Plutor 06:19, 2 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Why was this moved?

The software library and general hardware specifications are identical to those of the Game Boy Advance, so I don't see how its own article containing a whopping three paragraphs is a good idea. Sockatume, Talk 16:54, 7 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Well, the Game Boy Pocket is integrated into the main Game Boy article, so I'd have to agree. Otherwise, if you keep the Game Boy Advance SP article separate, then you should separate the Game Boy Pocket out of the Game Boy article.
The Game Boy Pocket changed almsot nothing - smaller and lighter and with a better screen. The SP reverts back to the vertical design, adds a frontlight, reverses the cartridge loading slot, and has a clamshell design. I think it is different enough to constitute its own article. Hbdragon88 03:01, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Afterburner

Theafter burner page has this quote from Game Boy Advance SP creator Kenichi Sugino: So, in that aspect, it helped us during SP development as well.

This is quite funny as the lighting system used in the SP uses *exactly* the same system as the afterburner. Indeed it is clear that Nintedo just took the design for it... If you don't belive this post look up the stealth dimmer chips. They were originally designed for the afterburner, but they now claim support for the GBA-SP also. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.41.205.245 (talk • contribs) 08:57, 25 March 2005 (UTC).

[edit] PSP vs GBA sales

About this quote recently deleted:

Under sales pressure from Sony PSP, Game Boy Advance SP regularly outsells Sony's PSP in both the US and the UK.

According to NPD information which Yahoo picks up here, 64% of the handheld consoles sold during 2005 and 52% of software for them in USA were GBA. As for UK, I am not sure about it. I have seen weekly rankings released by them in which both DS and SP outsell PSP, but it is hard to get a bigger picture because ChartTrack does not count units sold in certain big retailers (in example, a couple of weeks after ChartTrack claimed 800,000 DS were sold throught UK, Nintendo confirmed they have sold 1,000,000; that is a 25% error margin). -- ReyBrujo 17:55, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Problems

I think we should put a gallery section of this article where we can post SP images! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.139.176.11 (talkcontribs).

There's already an image. There's no need for an entire gallery. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 14:55, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

One or two images of the SP would be enough, but a gallery is not necessary. -- ReyBrujo 14:57, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Um,can you update the Blue GBA SP image,it's blurry!

I have a blue GBA SP but not a decent enough camera. --Thorpe | talk 15:55, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Take a picture of it&scan it on the internet!

[edit] Headphone Jack

Actually, there are adapters for the SP which allow you to attach both the AC charger and a pair of standard headphones to the SP at the same time. I bought a kit that included such an adapter around the same time I bought my first SP over a year ago. Unfortunately, I don't have a reference right now or I'd add such information to the page. --AlphaEtaPi 19:11, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SP ?

Does it stand for Super Portable because it folds in two ? Mr.Willison

In the Nintendo Official Magazine it was stated as standing for Special Project, IIRC. Alan 20:34, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] successor

Actually nintendo DS is not successor of GBA SP-DS is completely another nintendo handheld line

I agree, and this discussion is going on at the DS page, too. If that one is resolved with GBA being removed as the DS's predecessor, then the same should be done here, removing DS as the GBA's successor. I'll keep an eye on it. 209.216.93.104 17:16, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

The debate rages on at the Nintendo DS page, mostly now on the relation between the words predecessor and successor. But what has been established is that the DS is not a successor to the GBA SP via multiple sources. 1. Therefore, I have removed Nintendo DS from the list of successors. 70.126.149.223 03:50, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Can someone tell me how to add a image to the page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Super Infobox Adder (talkcontribs) 14:55, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Information can be found at Wikipedia:Images. Also, when posting on talk pages, you should sign your comments by adding four tildes at the end, like this: ~~~~. Dancter 15:10, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What the Hell is going on at the Bottom of Criticism

"This was also a common criticism of the older Game Boy models, and resulted in the original Game Boy Advance's popular horizontal layout."

I remember everyone disliking the new horizontal layout and wanting a more traditional look.

"This criticism was corrected in the Game Boy Micro, which opted for the original Game Boy Advance's horizontal layout as opposed to a traditional Game Boy-style layout."

Not really, its just that the micro is too small for a vertical layout.

The last bit of Criticism is just opinion. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.254.87.151 (talk • contribs) .

[edit] Ghost images with "front" light

It happens to me too! But I don't know if I can just take picture and just put it on here. --Addict 2006 03:06, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Criticisms and Praise

All the criticisms and praises have been removed cause they have been unsourced with [citation needed] tags for too long. If you would like to see your favourite criticism or praise added you MUST have a srource otherwise I will delete it. --Thaddius 16:15, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 'Neutrality is disputed' template

I've removed the formentioned template as it was firstly added without discussion, therefore there was nothing to support the supposed 'disputed' neutrality, and secondly I 'neutraled' the article up a bit, making it less of a complaint about the product and making it more of a general description. Before you add a template of that nature, please come here to point out specific parts that you have found POV. --Thaddius 15:19, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Battery Life Citations

What is needed exactly? The numbers listed do seem to match up with what I've observed with my backlit SP. Is there any way to actually provide a citation for this other than conducting a study with several hundred GBA owners and requiring them all to play till the battery dies? Zeebo-010 00:50, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I just want to say...

that that is a nice image of a Game Boy Advance SP in the infobox. Kudos to whoever took it / chose it. Paul Haymon 11:16, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
