יואי פרסי ניוטון.

יואי פרסי ניוטון (17 בפברואר 1942 - 22 באוגוסט 1989), חבר ראשי, מייסד ובעל השפעה ניכרת בתנועת הפנתרים השחורים בארצות הברית.

יואי פרסי ניוטון (Huey Percy Newton), נולד ב-17 בפברואר 1942 במונרו, לואיזיאנה. ניוטון היה אחד ממיסדי הפנתרים השחורים, תנועה שחורה שקראה לשינוי סדר היום הפוליטי בצורה רדיקלית ונשענה על המסרים של מלקולם איקס, מרקוס גארבי, מאו צה טונג, צ'ה גווארה ופרנץ פאנון. התנועה נשענה על רעיון הלאומיות השחורה והתקיימה מתחילת שנות השישים ועד סוף שנות השבעים. ניוטון עבד בהנהגת התנועה ביחד עם בובי סיל.

ניוטון נרדף על ידי ה-FBI בשנות השישים ונרצח בעסקת סמים ב-1989. השמועות אומרות שהשלטונות בארצות הברית רצו במותו.

במהלך חייו הוא סיים דוקטורט והיה פעיל חברתי ופוליטי פורה ביותר.
