Keep Everyone else didn't mind the picture. I gave the pic the proper information. Its better suited for the article than some blurry picture taken from a concert. We should have a poll before we start changing it again.--CyberGhostface 11:31, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
You're missing the entire point. It doesn't matter if you give all of the proper image. The fair use tag says explicitly, "in the absence of free images that could serve such a purpose". If you want a better picture for the article, either (a) produce your own image, or (b) find an image whose author is willing to release the rights to theirs.--Fallout boy 11:51, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Delete; as Fallout boy said, there is a perfectly adequate free-licensed alternative available. May I also inform CyberGhostface that Wikipedia is not a democracy; reasons for edits count more than numbers of editors. Extraordinary Machine 14:27, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Uploaded by Msikma (notify). This is tagged as a fair-use sample; it is not a sample, but a whole work, thus failing both WP:NOT (Wikipedia is not the place for source works) and the fair use guidelines. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 12:33, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Get your facts straight. It's not a full work. Perhaps you should check out the full work before you list anything for deletion; this was simply a nicely cut version of a small part of the work. Link to full work. (How can a minute-long sample of a 16:10 movie be a "full work", anyway?) —Michiel Sikma (Kijken maar niet aanraken) 12:38, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Spare me the hostility; it was poorly labeled. Don't mind this nomination, in any case. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 13:12, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Uploaded by Oven Fresh (notify). Non-commercial use only image, it seems unlikely that a fair use rationale could be made since it would be relatively easy to take/fine a truly free licensed image of a red slug- Sherool(talk) 15:30, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Anyone know if this: Image:Brown snail closeup.jpg is the same species? Would probably be a good replacement if it is, but I'm no slug expert. --Sherool(talk) 17:30, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Uploaded by Jaquessd (notify). Unencyclopedic, unused (removed from GNAA). Claimed to be a {{No rights reserved}}; the uploader gives no evidence for that, and I am not going to look through the GNAA website to verify that. - Mike Rosoft 18:10, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
The image is clearly encyclopaedic, it is being used both by the GNAA article (and I'm going to add it to one or more articles on protesting since it is interesting and relevant for those pages), and your unwillingness to verify their proof is not a sufficient reason for deletion. Moreover, you should remember to assume good faith; the image was uploaded with as much evidence as to its copyright status as any image on Wikipedia, and so assuming the uploader doesn't somehow make it clear that the image is a copyright violation, it would seem the burden of proof is on other editors. Stanfordandson 20:55, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Another user has discovered its source, which still doesn't give any evidence of the licensing (it is now marked as a copyright violation). In addition, it seems to be photoshopped. - Mike Rosoft 09:20, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Comment - I think that this is almost certainly a photograph taken by General Eisenhower and genuinely released under PD. The bar code isn't proof this is a magazine cover - some photographs have little bar codes at the bottom. The relevant question is whether it's correct to use Wikipedia as a photo storage site. Various south park style avarats uploaded by Anilocra and tagged as PD-self. They where created using the flash tool at http://www.sp-studio.de/ who's copyright notice says: "You are allowed to use the pictures for personal use as avatars, etc. but plese don't say you drew them yourself ;) If you want to show them on your homepage add a link to this game. If you weant to use them for bigger projects like cartoons, please send me an e-mail and tell me about it.". That does not translate into PD or any Wikipedia compatable free license, and since it's for userpage decoration fair use is not possible either. --Sherool(talk) 21:04, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
