[edit] Rest Areas and Weigh Stations
- Blackstone River Visitor Center / Service Plaza - MP 20 - Northbound only between exits 9 and 10 - Food service, tourist info, phones, rest rooms, bike path access, state police station. Open 24 hours.
Weigh stations are located both northbound and southbound at MP 19 between exits 9 and 10.
An abandoned rest area is located on the southbound side, opposite the new Rest Area/Visitor Center at MP 20. The state plans to renovate and re-open it in the near future to have facilities similar to that on the NB side.
[edit] Notes
Interstate 295 is notorious with local amateur radio operators as being a very bad area for using mobile radios to access many Providence-area VHF and UHF repeaters due to the hilly terrain and multiple deep rock cuts.
