- I disguidi tra i Nevermore e la casa discografica finiscono e nel rispetto per i loro fan, il disco Enemies of Reality viene rimasterizzato e nuovamente mixato con una qualità decisamente migliore.
- La stazione radio 92 KSJO di San Jose, California annuncia di essere stata venduta a una stazione radio spagnola.
- Il chitarrista dei Pantera, Dimebag Darrell, viene assassinato l'8 dicembre da un suo fan, Nathan Gale, mentre suonava ad un concerto dei Damageplan nell'Ohio. 24 anni prima, nella medesima data, venne ucciso John Lennon, anche lui da un suo fan.
- I Van Halen si riuniscono con Sammy Hagar (che era stato rimpiazzato dalla band nel 1996) e realizzano un tour senza un nuovo album.
