Got to be there è l'album di esordio solista di Michael Jackson in età pre-adolescenziale, pubblicato su etichetta Motown nell'agosto del 1971.

Anche se Michael Jackson aveva solo tredici anni quando uscì l'album, mise in mostra un'estensione vocale degna di un cantante veterano, come aveva già fatto in precedenza nei dischi incisi con i suoi fratelli nel gruppo Jackson 5.
La Motown ha pubblicato l'album solista di Michael Jackson nello stesso periodo che un altro fratello famoso di una famiglia famosa faceva lo stesso: Donny Osmond, che usciva con le canzoni Sweet & Innocent e Puppy Love. Il debutto di Jackson e quello di Osmond sono paragonabili tra di essi dato che Jackson ha avuto successo con la traccia Rockin' Robin che, come Puppy Love di Osmond, era un remake di una vecchia canzonetta rock degli anni 50.
L'album ha raggiunto la posizione massima del 14° posto degli album Pop e del numero 5 nel genere R&B quando è stato pubblicato.
