Michael Jackson: The Ultimate Collection è un cofanetto ad edizione limitata sulla musica di Michael Jackson, consistente in ben quattro CD, un libro che ripercorre la sua carriera e un DVD contenente la registrazione del concerto svoltosi a Bucarest nel 1992, racchiusi in un cofanetto in pelle.

Nel periodo di uscita di questo cofanetto coincise con il culmine dei problemi giudiziari della popstar americana, e le vendite ebbero un risultato ben sotto le aspettative. Molti fan si sentirono "ingannati", poiché erano in possesso già dei materiali contenuti all'interno dell'album e, sebbene contenesse molti demo rari e tracce "inedite", molte di esse erano disponibili ai fans già da molto tempo sulle reti di file sharing. Senza contare che questa uscita consisteva nel terzo gratest hits uscito nel giro di dieci anni e dal prezzo non certo accessibile a tutti.

Le vendite, furono intorno al 1.500.000 di quintupli dischi (300.000 copie).
