James "Jamie" Smith (born 20 November 1980) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League. A tricky winger, Smith has become a Pittodrie favourite with his direct style, with which he looks to take on defenders and cut inside to shoot. In August 2005, Smith struck a late winner as Aberdeen defeated rivals Rangers in a league match for the first time since April 1998, wowing the Dons support in only his third competitive game for the club.
Smith started his career with Celtic, but limited first team opportunities saw him join Dutch club ADO Den Haag where he spent one season. He returned to Scotland in season 2005-06 with Aberdeen.
He has also been capped by Scotland.
