[edit] Plot
After school Rory goes into Doose's Market to see Dean. He offers her a free soda, then holds two behind her back and asks her to guess what they are. When she leans forward, he kisses her. In shock, she says, "Thank you" and runs away, in the process shoplifting a box of cornstarch. She immediately tells Lane, but she is reluctant to tell Lorelai since they fought about Dean earlier.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Kim overheard Rory and Lane, and when Lorelai goes to Kim's Antiques to pick up a chair, Mrs. Kim tells Lorelai about the kiss. Lorelai is upset that Rory didn't tell her, so she unsuccessfully tries to get Rory to tell her about it, and she spies on Dean in the market. Finally she confronts Rory about it and tries to convince Rory that she's fine with it.
Later, Rory and Lorelai go to the market and video store to buy junk food and rent Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. To Rory's horror, Lorelai ends up inviting Dean to join them. Rory is nervous and awkward at first, but as the night goes on she gets more comfortable. Lorelai also tries to be calm, although when Rory leaves the room, she warns Dean to treat Rory well.
At the end of the night, Rory and Dean kiss again, and Dean says, "Thank you." Rory goes upstairs to talk to Lorelai, and finally tells her all about the kiss.
