Richard is feeling better and preparing to leave the hospital. Michel's dog, Chin Chin, dies and he pities Lorelei into holding his memorial at The Dragonfly. Rory has a crush on the teacher's assistant that is filling in for Richard and confesses her "self-destructing" feelings to Logan. Lorelai and Christopher end their marriage.

Lorelai and Rory throw Lane's baby shower, but Lorelai has to settle a fight between Lane and her mother first. Rory has an interview with the New York Times. Luke sells his father's boat to Kirk and buys a new and bigger one. Logan finally tells Rory about his business situation, and she tries to help out even though there's nothing she can do. She offers to come home from Lane's baby shower early to be with him, but Logan decides to go to Las Vagas with Colin and Finn to blow off some steam.

Lorelai plans to drive to North Carolina for the Mia's wedding; Rory has a fight with Logan about his immature reaction to his business deal and decides to go with Lorelai. Emily invites herself along in an effort to get away from Richard, who is driving her crazy while he recuperates at home. Lane and Zach ask Luke to be the godfather to their twins. Lane goes into labor and Luke helps get everyone to the hospital on time.

During the annual Spring Fling at Stars Hallow, there are a lot of guests staying at the Dragonfly Inn. Michel is very irritated with the guest's cheerfulness, Rory is coming back on a train from Providence, and April is going to give Luke a bracelet. Sometime later, Lorelai, Rory, Logan, and Michel, along with some of the tourists, are going to go to the Spring Fling on a bus rented by the Dragonfly Inn. At the Spring Fling, some of the guests at the Inn are a bit uncertain about a maze that is made out of hay. Especially one of the kids, because no one will chase him or shoot him with water guns as he goes through the maze. Finally, Logan decides to go through the maze with the kid

150th Episode! Lorelai stops into Luke's diner for breakfast for the first time since their break-up, but finds they are awkward and uncomfortable together. Later, Lorelai's Jeep breaks down and she asks Luke to help her shop for a new car. While they look at cars, Lorelai and Luke's irritation with one another finally explodes into a fight, which Lorelai secretly takes as a good sign. Meanwhile, Paris gets accepted to numerous law schools and medical schools, and decides she must break up with Doyle (guest star Danny Strong) so their relationship won't influence her choice of a graduate school. Finally, Rory gets a surprising letter that will impact her future plans.
