KMYT first went on the air in 2002,[1], simulcasting KMYI Hot AC music from San Diego, California. It previously simulcasted KOGO news/talk from San Diego, California.

Because KMYT is located halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles, it competes with KIFM (Smooth Jazz 98.1) and KTWV (94.7 The Wave) in their respective cities.
