[edit] History
KOHT has been a Rhythmic Top 40 station since the '80s. It was first sold to Art Laboe in the '90s and functioned in a rhythmic/urban format. Laboe owned KOHT up until 2001 when Clear Channel Communications purchased the station. It continues the same rhythmic/urban format today.
Longtime Program Director and Air Talent R Dub! announced he was leaving the station in February 2007 to move to Recife, Brazil. However, in early March 2007 he was offered the Program Director position at KHHT Hot 92 in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Los Angeles instead of Brazil. He is continuing his syndicated Slow Jams show based in Los Angeles.
Fred Rico joined KOHT in March 2007 as Program Director coming from Honolulu, HI.
[edit] Programs
KOHT's current morning show is CK and the Badboy Broadcast. Originally launched with co-host Shoe in 2005 (Shoe is no longer with the station) CK's current co-hosts are Crystal and PhatBack.
Previous shows have included Phoenix's 'Kid & Ruben in the Morning' and 'The Mexicanz' (with The Latin Rascal and Chico). 'The Mexicanz' moved on to Houston and KLOL.
Middays feature Gina Lee Fuentes who is based out of Texas and imports her show each day, Fred Rico afternoon drive, and Puerto Rico evenings.
The station is also the home station for R Dub's nationally syndicated Slow Jams show every night.
