KOL Secret Slumber Party on CBS is a three-hour children's programming block that began September 16, 2006 on CBS, replacing Nick Jr. on CBS, which was jointly produced by Viacom and Nickelodeon before CBS and Viacom became two separate companies. All programming in this block is in compliance with Federal "E/I" requirements -- as suggested by the Federal Communications Commission.
The programming block was originally going to be called CBS's Secret Saturday Morning Slumber Party (or CBS’s Saturday Morning Secret Slumber Party), but DiC Entertainment, who is producing all of the children's programming for the block, has partnered with KOL, the children's area of AOL, and which will co-produce programming with DiC. AOL manages the programming block's website, and has produced public service announcements to air both on television and online. [1] This alliance has led to the name change for this block, and also because of the fact that some of the programs were airing on Sundays.
As the block airs at different times on CBS stations (some air it in one day, while others split it to air on both Saturday and Sunday, and some may not air all of the programs), CBS and the block's producers ask viewers to check local listings to find out when the shows air in their area.
