Letoya is the 2006 debut album by American R&B singer LeToya Luckett. The album debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and as well as on the Hot R&B & Hip Hop albums, selling over 165,000 copies in its first week. It debuted at #3 on the World Charts, selling over 170,000 copies worldwide in its first week.
The first single off the album, "Torn" became a huge urban hit, reaching #2 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart in June 2006, and reaching #31 on the Billboard Hot 100. The follow up single, "She Don't", did not achieve the same success as its predecessor, though it was in heavy rotation on BET. It reached #17 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart and #2 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart (equivalent to #102). "Obvious", the third single is currently receiving airplay in many urban markets.
Besides the officially released singles, LeToya's debut album also includes the promo singles, "You Got What I Need" and "All Eyes On Me". LeToya co-wrote 10 out of the 14 tracks.
Proof that she is over all the Destiny's Child drama, in her thank yous, she wrote: "Beyoncé, LaTavia & Kelly I don't care what went on I love ya'll & God bless ya'll."
LeToya debuted at #1 on the charts, becoming the second Destiny's Child member to reach that position as a solo artist (after Beyoncé). The album has sold over 503,000 copies (according to Nielsen Soundscan)[1] and has been certified Platinum for shipments of 1 million copies.
