Recently there has been an increasing tendency to use the Greek forms, to reflect a more realistic version of how the actual name sounds, but sometimes there is no consistency (Andreas Papandreou, for example, is never called Andrew Papandreou, but George Papandreou is never called Giorgios Papandreou, but can also be called Georgios Papandreou). As well, certain Greek language consonants do not have exact English language counterparts. Reflecting this inconsistency, this table uses Greek forms, wherever possible, except for those Prime Ministers for whose names an Anglicised form is established due to the absence of a corresponding English consonant.
