List of governors of Florida

Florida became as United States territory by the terms of the Adams-Onís Treaty in 1821 and joined the Union as the twenty-seventh state on March 3, 1845. Prior to statehood, Florida was governed by military and territorial governors. - Shortest serving governor: Wayne Mixson - three days (3-6 January 1987)

- ^ Jackson left Florida on October 8, 1821. His resignation was submitted on November 13, 1821 from his home in Alabama. The President accepted it on December 31, 1821.
