[edit] Mario Symbol!

I just noticed that on Talon's official art for OoS and OoA the Mario sign is on his cap! Tpganon —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.74.28.208 (talk) 22:45, 6 December 2006 (UTC).

[edit] Pronunciation

To pronounce Malon's name, the "a" is short, and the "o" is a schwa sound. --PJ Pete

[edit] Image Comment

I think that it should be noted in the OoT Malon image that that is young Malon (Malon as seen by Young Link) Anyone agree?XXDucky21Xx 19:50, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Malon/Marin

I have to question the reasonability that Marin is a version of Malon. In the game, Link initially believes (while still dazed) that Marin standing above him is Princess Zelda, and in the instruction manual, this further continues, saying they were very similar. I see why someone would see the Marin/Malon connection, because of the name, her father, and their love of singing. However, it is possible they used her name as basis, and her father is also a nod at Ocarina of Time, but I think Zelda should at least be mentioned.

Which I'm off to do now. I'm only being picky because more solid evidence of a Zelda/Marin connection exists than a Malon/Marin connection. 72.92.167.162 14:47, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Other than the fact that Link initially mistakes her for Zelda, there are pretty much no real similarities; Zelda is a princess, whereas Marin is a girl living with her father in a small, humble house. Jeff Silvers 16:40, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Marin is said to look identical to Princess Zelda (barring the red hair one assumes). It should be made note of in the article. It's quite clear that Malon evolved from Marin, but Marin was originally a "Zelda substitute". (195.92.168.164 16:30, 7 January 2007 (UTC))
I've made the change(195.92.168.164 16:44, 7 January 2007 (UTC))
In at least one of the games (Zelda II) Princess Zelda appears to have reddish hair. Also, didn't Link's Awakening come out before Ocarina? In that case I think OOT's Talon would be a reference to Tarin, not the other way around. Or am I mistaken? Yumecosmos 03:42, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Link only mistakes Marin for Zelda when he's waking up out of unconsciousness. That's not worth much, and instruction booklets don't count much for canon either - hell, the American version of some instructions change storylines entirely, like the instructions for A Link to the Past or Tails' Adventure on the Game Gear. Plus if you go back to the original Japanese version (you can check a ROM if you like), you'll find that Marin and Malon's names are actually exactly the same in the Japanese versions of LA and OOT. We just translated them differently. So I think they might even go beyond "equivalent" and into the realm of "incarnations of the same person." Still, I think noting the supposed resemblence to Zelda is good. - Bishop2

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bishop2 (talkcontribs) 17:07, 22 February 2007 (UTC).

Alright, people, people... umm... did everyone just ignore Yumecosmos? Because Link's Awakening was produced in 1993... Ocarina of Time in 1998... that is not Malon. Marin and Malon are not made to be each other. For that, I'm deleting the entire Marin section, with only reference to Malon. Garrr... secondly, yes, at one point, Zelda did have red hair. Now, as to Malon being a reference to Marin, that's possible. But "Marin" is not an incarnation to "Malon"... Marin is certainly a Zelda replacement... le sigh... some people just don't listen, yes, Yumecosmos? 163.153.64.30 18:43, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

And, to add, I know the title is "Equivalents", but given that we have more proof in game, in handbook also, (because it is official, after all), that Marin is a Princess Zelda equivalent, I'll only briefly mention Marin in that section. 163.153.64.30 18:24, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kick Out/Expel

In Zelda: OOT, if Talon is kicked out/expelled from Lon Lon Ranch, it would be better to say "expelled" rather than the boring "kick out". --PJ Pete

[edit] Added a Cremia note

I remember in Majora's Mask, at one point Anju's mother speculated that Kafei ran off with Cremia. I added that to the article. This indicates that by in-game standards, Malon is a very attractive woman.Gavyn Sykes 16:08, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

I've re-added the last part of the note. If anyone feels it should not be there, let me know. If it somehow violates the Manual of Style or something of that sort, feel free to revert it, but I'd like to know why or I may re-add it.....Gavyn Sykes 23:13, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Zelda Romance Page?

Has anyone suggested that someone make a page capping together all Zelda romance I mean including all female options (ex. from OOT Saria, Zelda, Malon and from TP Zelda, Llia, and possibly Midna) even suggestiongs that dont really work like midna

I would personally enjoy that unless for some reason it is redundant. If it is would someone please post a link to the page?

Otherwise, I would like to create a page unfortunately, I have not played many of the games, I'd need a lot of help. I have, however, quite thougroughly concidered all the games i have played.64.74.212.1 17:45, 6 March 2007 (UTC)Hood

Well, 64.74.212.1, have you played OoT, or the Oracle series? The page would be relativaly easy if you have.

[edit] Added Malon trivia note

I added the note about the hug Cremia gives Link in Trivia. If you don't believe this, then either plug in your N64 and follow my instructions, or go to this site:http://www.zeldauniverse.net/content/view/204/257/ and read the article. I found this very facinating. Superbub 01:23, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Validity of "Official" Manga

I'm having a hard time believing that the OoT manga is official. I haven't seen evidence of Nintendo ever stating that the manga is their official byproduct of the game. If someone can show me reliable proof that it is, please reply back, and if possible, add in "official" to the manga title in the article. Until then, I'm removing that word from the article. -Zid1 00:17, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Official in the sense that it's produced and backed by Nintendo... no, it's not necessarily canon (many fans choose to interpret either/or), but it is their official comic/manga for Ocarina of Time.163.153.64.30 18:35, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. Much obliged; I'll get that title in. -Zid1 16:30, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
