New Westminster Station is located at Columbia Street and 8th Street in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, and was the original (1985-1990) terminus of the SkyTrain.
It was completed in 1985 in order to provide transportation for Expo 86 being held in Vancouver. The station remained the terminus until the Expo Line was extended, first to Columbia Station in 1989, then over the Fraser River on the Skybridge, to Scott Road Station in Surrey in 1990. There are plans for major renovations to the station as well as a mixed-use development.
