New York State Route 215 is a very short north-south New York State Route located entirely within Cortland County in Central New York. Its northern terminus is located at a junction with New York State Route 13 in the city of Cortland. The southern terminus is located at a junction with NY-392 in the town of Virgil.
Present-day NY-215 was originally part of NY-90. In fact, the reference markers along the road still bear the original route number.
Originally, NY-215 was designated to a stretch of road located between NY-360 and the Lake Ontario State Parkway in Monroe County. This designation was removed in the early 1970s, to be reissued to the present-day NY-215 in the early 1980s when NY-90's length in Cortland County was scaled back.

[edit] History
NY 215 assumed its current alignment when NY 90 was set back to Homer. It was originally aligned between NY 360 and the Lake Ontario State Parkway. This designation was removed when the LOSP was extended into Orleans County.[1]
