New York State Route 400 is an expressway totally contained within Erie County, New York, USA. The northwest end is connected to the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) and the southeast end terminates at NY 16 in the Town of Wales. NYS Route 400 roughly parallels NYS 16, but provides a speedier, limited access highway. It is most commonly used to carry traffic from Buffalo to the village of East Aurora, where Fisher-Price, and Moog, Inc are headquartered. Even today it is still a busy commuter route.
The northwest end of 400 is near the west town line of the Town of West Seneca at the Thruway. The southeast end is north of the community of South Wales in the southwest corner of Wales, connecting to 16, known at that point as Olean Road. The highway crosses Cazenovia Creek just before ending.
