Douglas Morton Dunlop

Douglas Morton Dunlop (1909 - 1987) var en britisk historiker; han arbeidet særlig med på islamsk og eurasisk historie.
Dunlop studerte ved Bonn og Oxford under historikeren Paul Eric Kahle (1875 - 1965). Hans verk var påvirket av forskere som Zeki Validi Togan, Mikhail Artamonov, og George Vernadskij. På 1950-tallet og 1960-tallet var Dunlop professor i historie ved Universitet i Columbia i USA.
Han er best kjent for sitt verk om den arabiske sivilisasjon og om khazarene, et halvnomadisk tyrkisk folk fra Sentral-Asia mellom 700-1000-tallet. Han har også bidratt i stor grad som oversetter av arabisk litteratur, blant annet den islamske filosof og vitenskapsmann Al-Farabi (Abunaser) (870 – 950).
