• The current image height, 480 pixels, was chosen to match that of standard VGA. (It also divides conveniently by 6.)
• The current image width, 777 pixels, was chosen to approximate the golden ratio:

• Colors were originally taken from the table, “The colors of the visible light spectrum,” from the Wikipedia article on color, and then subsequently adjusted to match those used in actual rainbow pride flags (see talk/discussion page).
