Paul Martyn Konchesky (born May 15, 1981 in Barking, London) is a professional English football player currently playing for West Ham United in the left-back position. He is a versatile player capable of appearing across the back four or in midfield. He studied at Eastbrook Comprehensive School in Dagenham, Essex.

Konchesky originally began as a West Ham Academy youth, but was released by the East London club and was signed for Charlton Athletic as a teenager. He became the youngest player to appear in a Charlton first team when he played against Oxford United in 1997 at the age of 16. In 2002 he appeared in the England national under-21 football team in the European Under-21 Football Championship. For the 2003-04 season Charlton sent him out on loan to Tottenham Hotspur. He made his England first team debut in a half-time substitution in the friendly against Australia in 2003, although his performance was not rated as impressive and he failed to gain a regular place in later squads.

In July 2005, Konchesky was transferred from Charlton to West Ham United, the team he had supported as a child, for a reported £1.5 million. He won his second England cap in November 2005 in another friendly against Argentina. His first season with the Hammers was an enjoyable one and concluded with his scoring in the 2006 FA Cup Final when his cross went straight into the net, although he later had a spot kick saved as West Ham went down to Liverpool on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

His second season at Upton Park has been less enjoyable however, with West Ham spending the Christmas period in the bottom three and the left-back is one of a number of players culpable for the Hammers' recent poor defensive showings.

Konchesky's sister Sarah is married to John Terry's brother Paul; they have a son, Frankie and a daughter Georgia Rose.

His name suggests he has some Polish ancestry via his father. The name 'Konchesky' is probably an anglicised form of either Konczeski or Konczewski.
