Reigate and Banstead is a local government district with borough status in east Surrey. It covers the towns of Reigate, Banstead, Redhill and Horley.
The district was formed on April 1, 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972. It was a merger of the former borough of Reigate with Banstead Urban District and part of Dorking and Horley Rural District.
