Reynold A. Nicholson

Reynold Alleyne Nicholson (born 1868 in Keighley, Yorkshire, died in 1945, Chester, Cheshire) was a British orientalist.
He was a lecturer in Persian language and Thomas Adams professor of Arabic language at Cambridge University. He was then a leading scholar in Islamic literature and Islamic Mysticism who exercised a lasting influence on Islamic studies. [1]
Among his translations are:
- The Sufi treatise of Hujviri
- Rumi's Mathnawi and Divan e Shams
- Ibn Arabi's Tarjuman al-Aswaq
He also authored Literary History of The Arabs.
He has translated poetry of the famous Sindi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
