Rise of the Zitboy is an episode of Invader Zim. Originally produced as episode 8A, this episode was aired as 9B on August 31, 2001.
[edit] Plot
Zim discovers Dib spying on him, and promptly throws him out. However, Dib reveals that there is a security flaw in his house. Zim is soon obsessed.
Meanwhile, GIR gets a pizza delivered, and begins to gluttonously eat it. Zim is disgusted by the food, but after the malfunctioning android is done, he randomly hugs Zim covering him with pizza.
Hysterical, Zim tries to clean it off with soap ("cleansing chalk"), but discovers there is bacon in the soap (In a classic exchange, "WHY WAS THERE BACON IN THE SOAP!?" "I made it mah-self!"). Zim then notices that he has a pimple. GIR gives Zim Acne Blast, which he saw in a commercial, but it made the pimple larger. In the aftermath, Zim's pimple is huge (which GIR draws a face on), and Zim discovers it has incredible hypnotic qualities when a person is fixed on its stare, as found when GIR actually obeys.
Zim decides to use this zit to get security information from Dib. Putting a fake body on the round zit, he names it Pustulio.
At the "Skool", Zim develops a following of hypnotized zombies to do his bidding, except for Dib and Gaz, of course. Dib rushes off to stop the horror, while Gaz remains indifferent.
Dib attempts to stop Zim and the zit, but is overpowered by Torque Smacky. Zim hypnotizes the resisting Dib, who, after a struggle, gives up the minor flaw.
At that moment, however, Zim's pimple explodes, filling the "Skool" with pus. Zim then leaves, satisfied, while Dib is forced by Ms. Bitters to clean the lake of pus up... with a tiny sponge.
[edit] Trivia
- Originally, Zim was going hypnotize two other kids. One kid was forced to eat anti-matter, and other is forced to pinch Miss Bitters. The kid walks off screen and can be heard getting slapped. It was cut for time.
- The book Gaz is reading at school was called 'Punch Club', a reference to Fight Club.
- It is implied in this episode that Irkens breathe through their eyes, although this could just be a humorous reference to the fact that Zim knows very little about human anatomy.
