Sap is an Alice in Chains studio EP, released on March 21, 1992 through Columbia Records.
The EP is so titled due to a dream drummer Sean Kinney had after finishing the album. In it, the band members are at a press conference and announce that the name of the album will be Sap due to its "sappy", or soft, sound compared to the band's previous album, Facelift.
The album was also re-released in 1994 as a limited edition double vinyl along with Jar of Flies. Jar of Flies is on Side 1 and 2. Sap is on Side 3 and an etching of the Alice in Chains logo is on Side 4.
The album was re-released in 1995 when "Got Me Wrong" became a hit after its inclusion on the soundtrack to the 1994 movie Clerks. The re-released version included lyrics and slightly different artwork.
