Scott Vernon (born 13 December 1983 in Manchester) is an English footballer who currently plays for the Football League One team Blackpool. His position is as a striker.
Vernon's time at Oldham was most notable for a goal he scored in the FA Cup that put Premiership side Manchester City out in the third round. He was a popular player under Ian Dowie but struggled to find a game with both Brian Talbot (who loaned him to Blackpool) and then Ronnie Moore, who swapped him for the Seasiders' midfielder Richie Wellens in 2005.
Vernon endured a nightmare first season at Blackpool, ending up on loan at Colchester United. Goals and confidence were hard to come by and many expected him to be out of Bloomfield Road before the beginning of the 2006/07 season. However, new striking partner Andy Morrell seems to have discovered how to bring the best out of Vernon and his goals and form have, at the time of writing, returned.
