[edit] Candidates for "External Links"

[edit] Silkroad Wikis

[edit] a) Wiki on Wikia

[edit] b) A wiki hosted on a private homepage of Jedaz

I don't know if anyone thinks its worth-while putting the link on the page, but there it is if people want. - Jedaz 10:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

It's interesting. ~ UBeR 21:10, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Is it down already? - TopAce 14:13, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Nope. ShakingSpirittalk 14:22, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
Issue is, if you let these in, then people will cry foul if you don't let their's in. I personally just want a link to all the different editions of SRO. Ddcc 17:07, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
These should not be added to external links. ~ UBeR 18:26, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I may be a bit biased (actually, I know I am XD) but... seeing as how the scratchpad wiki (a) is not exactly running at this point, I'd say Jedaz's wiki should be listed. I've looked around, and several other gaming articles link to a prominent wiki on the game. There is a Japanese wiki [1], but no other active ones. Therefore, I'd say to add Jedaz's wiki (b) on the grounds that it is the most prominent English wiki for Silkroad. And, small aside, but I also feel that it's grown enough since it's initial nomination to actually be considered as a link. Faladine 12:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

I just visited the site and checked a few pages. A lot of stuff is still missing. ~ UBeR 17:56, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GM cap raise confirmation

[2] this pic shows definite confirmation about the GMs raising the cap since they made the announcement in game

[edit] Europe

Europe has been released in Korean Silkroad Online, and I think this article is mainly focused on the international Server. Can someone write some more information about Europe.Jackietang33 08:51, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

KSRO have had the Euro patch for quite a long time now, but I don't think we should include anything about it in the article until it's released in IKSO early next year, as it's ISRO that the article is predominantly written about; KSRO and ISRO may be the same game at heart, but there's a lot of differences between them ShakingSpirittalk 09:39, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
I Don't see anything wrong with adding a European section. I don't have enough information about it to write anything though. ~ UBeR 20:34, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

There is also West Asia which is released in both Japanese and Korean SRO.Jackietang33 00:26, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

What about the European Masteries? And race, Europeans Have different skills depending on their Jobs, its really complicated, Ive been checking Korean Sro And didnt found enough Information on skills of the European Race although their skills are alot slower than chinese skills. they have clerics, rogue and others that other Online Rpg games usually have.Jackietang33 00:38, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Look at the reference link at the bottom of the page. The interview with developers has information on all of this and also the upcoming arab race. They explain all of this in English. Just wanted you to know. Redskunk 02:26, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Ahhh! That was very useful.^^ Haven't realised, rarely visit the International Site.Jackietang33 08:21, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Seal Items

A post on the official SilkRoad site forums tells the specifics for Seal weapons, and was posted by a member of the moderation staff. However, I have -no idea- how to reference it properly (especially with the whole 'forums aren't references' thing)... here's the link for anyone interested (it's the post by (sparta)morningdew, I can't seem to make the page automatically focus on that post): http://www.silkroadonline.net/sro_board/ppboard/viewtopic.php?t=27620&sid=98681e551d10f723d2107137dc45e9f6

[edit] Berserker Points

I don't know if any of you have a precise answer for this, but how exactly do you accumulate Berserker Points, if not by killing NPCs? - TopAce 15:29, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Don't you just kill monsters and like every ? npc's killed gives you a berserker point? Ddcc 19:49, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
It's pretty random. You could kill 20 monsters and not get a berserker point, you could kill 20 and get 3 of them. It's pretty hard to know when you will and will not get berserker points. ~ UBeR 20:45, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

ya but silk points u get from the tiger girl 1 point for 1 kill unicuq monster.skill points receive in 50%-80%when u do a quest

[edit] Gold duping

I get that players were somehow able to make enormous amounts of gold using an exploit, but the article doesn't really say HOW they managed to do it. Is it known or was it simply a skillful hack into the game's source code? - TopAce 22:13, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Don't know. Obviously Joymax isn't going to publicize it. Ddcc 22:52, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

You mean buying gold? Because in Aege there was someone who had 1 billion gold, buying a SOSUN ,62 bladeJackietang33 12:01, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

No. Gold duplicating via game bug. Ddcc 16:39, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Event items + Server lists

Is it really needed? ~ UBeR 18:58, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

I added the Event Item section because these items are, as stated in the section, unique. It is information in the form of knowing where these items came from, as well as what servers have which items in circulation. I do, however, freely admit that it could very definitely use cleanup at the least. The Server list is needed as-is, as it lists the dates as well as the servers themselves, which I've seen frequent questions of what was released when on various forums. 4.154.5.81 01:10, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

I think adding the server lists wasn't needed, but the event item might be needed.Jackietang33 09:49, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Event items is so-so. I don't have a real opinion. The server lists are innacurate as Sparta isn't on there. It is really too long. If you want to make a new arcticle I don't know. But just not in this one Redskunk 02:57, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

It wouldn't qualify for a new article; it isn't long enough and wouldn't contain enough information to be worthy of an article. 4.154.0.217 06:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV?

Added "The servers are allways full so you only have a very slight chance to actually play the game. And even if you get on a server, you will often experience severe lag. Many would mean that they would rather pay a montly fee so that they Joymax could get more servers"

That's not from a neutral point of view which Wikipedia requires. Simply put, they are NOT always full. And if you changed it to "the servers are sometimes full", that's still not something that would be appropriate. Ddcc 20:25, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I have been trying to play for some days now, and the servers are full most of the time. And even if you get on a server, you will experience severe lag. Why wouldnt it be appropriate to write that out? It is a fact, and Wikipedia is no commercial place. I can agree on that I wrote it in the wrong place, I will now put it under the server-paragraph.

That may be, but you'd need to find and cite a source; wikipedia can't accept original research ^_^ ShakingSpirittalk 11:30, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually I get in very easy and usually don't get any lag. So... ~ UBeR 17:35, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

It doesnt lag, depending on which time you loginJackietang33 11:59, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Silkroad jargon

Would a section about jargon used by the Silkroad community fit in here? I would be enthusiastic to make one, if you think it would be appropriate. - TopAce 19:41, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia is trying to stay away from becoming a "game guide" for games. For example, you don't expect to go buy a copy of World Book and find articles on "special items" on games. Ddcc 04:12, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't see why a page about SRO jargon could be anything like a "game guide." It's as much as saying that this whole article should be deleted because it gives info about how the game is played and the equipment items there are in it. - TopAce 19:41, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, agree with you, TopAce, this whole entire article clearly explains to players the interface of game, skills and Masteries which is clearly a guide. Jargon wouldnt be bad, like when players are saying B>Weapon Elixir, Pm me with offers.Jackietang33 07:04, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Philippines edition

Is there any difference between that and International? Ddcc 03:08, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Philippines shouldn't be much of a difference from International, as far as I know, Isro is the last Server to recieve new updates.Jackietang33 05:10, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

The reason I'm asking this is because if you go to the download page for the Philippine client, it links to SilkroadOnlineGlobalOfficial, which implies that it's the international client. Ddcc 02:32, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dull Pictures

The pictures that have been uploaded are abit "lame", there's no conflict. We need a picture with conflict, maybe with a unique or giant? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jackietang33 (talkcontribs) 05:15, 8 February 2007 (UTC).

If an image gets uploaded and used in Wikipedia, it's not because it's exciting or an "eye-candy" but because it shows something that needs to be seen, gives info or illustrates something. Could you be more specific? Which ones are "lame," and why? - TopAce 19:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

The pictures with the one showing the masteries, I was thinking someone should replace it with a Pvp picture.Jackietang33 07:01, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
