[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Nona b&w-2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Nona b&w-2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. feydey 04:55, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- As You know someone always owns the copyright to their pictures, so please add the correct licence to the picture page. GDFL and other free licences (pictures made by yourself) fit Wikipedia best. See also Wikipedia:Copyrights and Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Thanks for contacting me. feydey 00:45, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't delete the image, that was decided and deleted by an admin. feydey 21:55, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- Admin CLW deleted the image http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=delete&user=&page=Image%3ANona+b%26w-2.jpg with the explanation: unconfirmed copyright status for more than seven days. So the copyright status of the image was not proper/adequate. So the image wasn't properly licenced or something. If You want to re-upload, gimme the link and i'll help with the licence? feydey 17:07, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Nona - good pic.jpg
![]() |
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Nona - good pic.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Please give proper sources (http://... or other) to Your uploaded images. feydey 23:24, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nona Hendryx images
Please add always the source (http://....) and the licence. Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia and as such doesn't usually accept copyrighted images. Please add a licence from the dropdown list in the image upload page to your image. If You are not sure about the licence of the image then ask or do not upload it. There are still many good biography articles in WP without photos. Thanks feydey 23:31, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your question at the Help desk
Your question re: Sarah Dash has been answered by me. You can see the question, and the answer, at Wikipedia:Help desk and scroll nearly to the bottom. I also gave your question it's own heading to make it easier to find. By tacking your question onto someone else's it would have made it harder for you to find later. If you follow the link at the top of the Help desk page that states "Click here to add a new question", that will add the heading for you and put your question at the bottom of the page which is where new questions go. Also, please sign your posts to talk pages and the help desk with four tildes, like this: ~~~~ Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 17:36, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Nona_album_cover_2.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Nona_album_cover_2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Nilfanion (talk) 00:50, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
