Talk:Super Mario All-Stars
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Some gamers oppose the enhanced remake idea. There are also some gamers who formerly opposed the idea, but have begun to support it."
Do we really need statements like this? That sounds pretty obvious. Perhaps we should add "there are also some gamers who formerly supported the idea, but have begun to oppose it".
- Yup, lame and obvious. Clean it up please! Stan 15:49, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)
This page also fails to mention the obvious diffrent versions of the game. For example, the US & Europe versions and the combo carts that included Super Mario World
- I think that it mentions the combo carts... what's significant about US & Europe versions? Andre (talk) 23:17, Oct 25, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Screenshots
Anyone fancy taking new screenshots for the two versions of SMB3 so they show the same scene? Rufous 16:46, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
- I took a screenshot of the original SMB3 where the existing screenshot of the remade one takes place. However, this page now has layout issues. On my browser the screenshots are overlapping with some of the text and I can't get it to stop without having a huge gap in the text. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? --TheDotGamer Talk 03:07, May 3, 2005 (UTC)

- I have reflown the images so that they come in logical order, with the original game first, and the update second. They look good now. However, some of the images were (necessarily) taken using an emulator, and it looks like they had one of the emulator's special drawing modes enabled, like SuperEagle or similar. This smooths the edges of sprites, so the game looks considerably different to how it was originally. I would prefer if the images show the game in its true state. Rufous 21:41, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Will someone please submit the SMB2 original shot without a graphics-smoothing emulator engine in place? This isn't true to the console.Alvis 07:16, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gameboy versions
I have played Super Mario All-Stars on the Gameboy Advance. But when I went out to buy it, I can't even find any record of it existing. What is going on? Am I missing something, is it under a different name? If the game exists (which is does) it should be included here under plateforms - Rowan 12:09, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
- The Super Mario All-Stars versions of Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3 are available as Super Mario Advance and Super Mario Advance 4 respectively. The SMAS version of SMB or SMBTLL were never released on Game Boy Advance, and the version of Super Mario World on GBA has Luigi sprites that are not the same as the ones found in SMAS+SMW. - NES Boy 18:16, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Erratum
- The princess' name is "Princess Toadstool", although the manual of the North American and PAL European versions erroneously list her to being just called "The Princess". In North America and Europe, she wasn't usually known as "Princess Peach" until Super Mario 64. The name that she was listed as in the manual in the North American and PAL European versions was corrected to naming her "Princess Toadstool" in the Player's Guide. --ZachKudrna18@yahoo.com
[edit] What does this mean?
SMB: Super Mario All-stars/Collection version
...Collisions with the pipe-plants include the top eight pixels (in the original, all enemies except Bowser collided as 16x16, even if they looked larger)...
What does all this mean? 131.202.140.124 18:34, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- It means that in the collection version of the game Mario does get hurt when hitting the top part of a Piranha Plant, whereas in the original version Mario doesn't get hurt.--TBC☆O M G! 03:51, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

- Cool, I tried that! I guess the programmers never thought that a player would jump directly on top of a piranha plant! 156.34.216.145 16:55, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
