[edit] Release date
Just checked the Nintendo press site, seeing as they have free access for a week. Anyway, the release date for this game is still saying "Q4 2006", I checked the release list on Nintendo.com, the game didn't even show up. I think a note that IGN's news post might be a rumor should be in order. Or if anyone could find it on Nintendo.com. Havok (T/C/c) 06:22, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- On EBGames.com it says 1/1/06 for the Gamecube release date—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.125.95.80 (talk • contribs).
- Stores and websites use placeholder dates until they have the correct info. TJ Spyke 21:34, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

- Ok, at this point EBgames.com has the coverart of the game and shows it for being released April 23rd. Since Nintendo Power supports the April release date and the website has the correct boxart, can we use EBgames as a source for an April 23rd NA release date or what? --12.206.1.97 02:40, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- There is no proof that the box art is real, it's the RUMORED boxart. EB Games (and retailers in general) are not reliable for release date and price info. TJ Spyke 02:44, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- When GameStop puts those covers up, they usually look a lot less professional than that does... And also typically put 'for display purposes' on the cover. I'd count on it popping up on IGN or other websites within a few weeks, personally, if not days. I'd still wait on the release date though. Eusis 03:32, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

- A bit late of a response, but IGN seems to have it too. While they've jumped the gun before, I doubt they just take boxart from GameStop. Eusis 09:52, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Official release date
According to this website, a Nintendo press release states the game to be out on April 9, 2007. I'd edit the page but I'm not adept at editing Wiki pages and linking sources and all that stuff yet. Sorry. Someone who knows how can do it. :) http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2007/02/12/nintendo-spills-the-beans-on-super-paper-mario-release-date/

- I'd like to know how you'd have it edited, since it's already been put in. :P Eusis 19:54, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

- It wasn't there when I first checked the page out... I guess I'm just slow. :P 72.10.212.21 20:02, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
It's April 10,not April 9,when I reseverd it,it says April 23 then it said April 10.DATE:APRIL 10,2007(wfmp)
[edit] Think i should remove this info?
I just posted bside Red Flower that it was previously called a Fire Flower (for all Mario noobs.) I'm not sure if that affects the flow of the article though. What do you think?12.210.112.51 22:18, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Umm, im pretty sure it's still called a Fire flower, that been going on for to long for nintendo to just change it. Even if it isnt called a fire flower in this game thats what it will always be called.--71.183.44.244 02:45, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
I understand now, its not the same thing. The fire flower and the red flower are different. Ill make that clear.--Widkid85 02:46, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wii?
Holy ****! Is the GameCube Dead!? It seems that asll their newly released games or going for the Wii. I just recently found out about SPM on the wii. wasn't it originally planned for the GC? --TheGreenLink 18:40, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
- Yes it was originally scheduled for the GameCube, a couple of weeks ago it was officially switched. Nintendo is making the smart move by fully concentrating on the Wii IMO. I read that Nintendo has also officially stopped manufacturing GC's. TJ Spyke 21:54, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Some items I added.
In the items section, i added Thunder Rage on the Offensive Items and the Happy Flower in the Special Items that were from lots of videos i've seen lately. After a while, i decided to join Wikipedia too add that new info to that page. :) Anyways, im new here!

[edit] The article is becoming a guide
The game isn't even out, but it's already turning into a guide: Super_Paper_Mario#Power-ups. A clear item guide, which isn't what Wikipedia is for. I would delete it, but I can imagine people will just re-add it (thinking it's fine, just because the game isn't out or whatever the case might be).zRobJ1981 04:43, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
I didn't intend for it be a guide, I simply reorganized the information according to item types to make it appear less thrown together. --ThomasO1989 16:01, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Don't freak out. It is a similar size to the articles for other games of its stature. Soon it will be out, but in terms of Nintendo's game plan on Wii it's a big sleeper hit. As long as it doesn't grow out of hand, we shouldn't trim it until we know what is most relevant. It's certainly nothing to freak out about. --Ira-welkin 16:04, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not freaking out, that comment wasn't needed. As per game guide policies/guidelines: item lists are rarely encyclopedic. Why let it exist now, and delete it later? Delete it now, and end the item guide issue. Some are relevant, and some aren't: but that's not the issue. The issue is it's becoming an item guide. The use of items can be described in the plot, when the game comes out. But even then: a mass listing of them (or describing of alot of them) isn't notable for Wikipedia. It being a hit or not: doesn't mean item lists are allowed. RobJ1981 21:20, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Main series
Way is this game under main series when it is a RPGSonicrules2 19:03, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Sonicrules2
- It has just as many ties to the Super Mario Bros series as it does the RPG series'. It's both... sorta. The RPG elements were toned down and, obviously, the platforming elements were made more prominent. This isn't my reasoning, but a possible explanation to your quandary. --Thaddius 05:35, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well it's part RPG, part platformer... so it technically leans towards both the main series and RPG series. It's more platformer though, so main series seems to be the correct place for it. RobJ1981 05:58, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- It still doesn't really seem like a main Mario game, though that could change when I actually play it. Maybe the developer should be used as more of a benchmark? All the others, as far as I know, were developed by EAD and not a group like Intelligent Systems. Eusis 06:53, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
